I watched many videos about chest freezers that were not cooling, I watched YouTube videos and looked at how to test the value of the capacitor with an ohm meter the little capacitor originally installed in the chest freezer had went out! It was a 10 UF capacitor. It was hard to read, but I was able to make it out well I couldn’t find an exact replacement, but I knew that I could go up or stay the same so I got this 10 UF capacitorwrapped in duct tape with new connectors on it so I could set it in the case and test and that compressor took off and was running like crazy! No problems with this capacitor a great value for the money and no doubt it’ll last longer than the one that came in the unit because that one was really teeny tiny This has a lot more oil and stable capacity. I like it better than buying one that has a relay on it, simply two wires, plug and play awesome product great value for the money.

My air conditioner stopped working on my upper level. I checked around at local stores was not in stock anywhere. I looked on Amazon and found this one, installing it was easy. Fixed the air conditioner. Very happy highly recommend this product. Thank you

My unit measured 10.35uF out of the box. I was able to get this quickly, along with my new Johnson Controls 1/2 HP furnace blower motor. This cap starts the motor quickly and quietly, and seems to maintain phase shift adequately while blower is running. No humming or other problem indicators. Longevity may be questionable. I will replace with a name-brand capacitor from a reputable dealer, but this was sufficient to get me back up and running.

I actually had a local HVAC contractor come out and, after inspection, told me that the entire furnace unit should be replaced. It was new when the house was built in 2008. My unit simply would not start. It was just dead. He quoted me just over $2,200 for the replacement. I told him I wasn't going to do that and he left. That was an $89 service call, no repair was done. So, I just went online to read up as much as I could find on what the problem might be. Most everything I read also included suggestions for when to call in the pros. I then determined that there were four (4) possible things wrong. I listed them in the order of the cost of the replacement part suggested, lowest to highest. The lowest cost item was the capacitor. My readings reiterated the importance of replacing the capacitor with one of identical capacitance as the original. This one is an exact match. It is also is the right shape to fit. It was delivered in two days. So, I watched about 4 or 5 YouTube videos, wrote down the instructions, got out a couple of my tools and I was surprised that I had the capacitor swapped out in about 45 minutes. Someone who knows what they are doing could do it in half the time. (BE SURE TO FOLLOW the advice on the YT videos to shut off all power to your furnace and to then discharge the old capacitor by putting an insulated screwdriver across the two electrodes before you try to remove the old one. They can store a bunch of electricity in them.) I put the whole thing back together, restored power and the unit has worked perfectly ever since. That has been about three months ago now. It has worked for our furnace as well as for our central air conditioning which runs through that same unit. I keep reminding my wife that I SAVED us just over $2,200! (That hasn't made anything different happen, but I keep reminding her just the same. 😉) Photos show the burned out capacitor that I removed. I forgot to take a photo of the the new one I installed.
