ECG Workout: Exercises in Arrhythmia Interpretation

This book is remarkable.
This is an outstanding book. It is clearly written, concise, very informative and would make an excellent textbook for medical students. I wish I had something like this when I was in medical school because it would have made the subject much easier to understand. It is a complete book, some 400 pages in length, and written in a medical school format. It assumes the reader has some understanding of the terms and ideas associated with medicine and that he or she is reasonably well-educated.The first chapter explain the parts and mechanics of the heart, while the second deals with its electochemistry. In later chapters, the book explains EKG anomalies and offers tracings specific to each issue. It is a wonderful tool from which to learn the manner of interpreting various tracings. I highly recommend this text to any medical student, nursing student, or anyone interested in knowing how to be competent in the reading of EKGs.

Irreplaceable.
Everyone loves Dubin. Great book, no doubt and as a PA student I found it very useful in helping me understand the basics of ECG Interpretation. However, every single text I find falls short of providing adequate practice with succinct and precise explanations of each rhythm strip and variations of each. Learning how things look in a perfect world is good to know, but seeing how it presents in multiple different ways is what you're going to need to learn to interpret in real life. As a PA student, I have finally found the book that put me at ease and makes me feel confident about reading ECG Rhythm during clinicals. I thought a book like this did not exist. Well it does. I suggest you get this book and a copy of Dubin, go over this one in more depth for rhythm and Dubin for axis, etc and you will be golden. This book is #1 gold to me and I know for a fact it would be #1 for many students like myself.

All-inclusive reference
I originally bought this book to help me learn ecg rhythms for my work as a staff nurse in a hospital. We are required to do ecg competencies every quarter, and I was having trouble keeping them all straight. I was so impressed with the book, I bought a second copy for my co-workers to use not only to study, but also as an everyday reference.I even have it on my kindle,If I am out somewhere and have time, I pull it out just to read it -it is that enjoyable. Though I have several other books about mastering ecgs, this is my go-to source for answers. The fact that it has practice strips and gives the rationales behind the answers gives it the edge when comparing it to other material.

Book is good but was used
The book is good to learn, however the "new" book I purchased was not new, it had been highlighted in.

My ECG instructor said this is the best book out there
My ECG instructor said this is the best book out there. She's been a nurse for 40 years. I read it through week by week and practiced all the strips. It really is a thorough and easy book to understand. I had rented the book through the school and wanted it for my book collection. I bought it new, here on Amazon. I wanted to make sure the flash cards (of different rhythms) in the back of the book were mine to keep since in my rented book there were already ripped out.

Great book
You can buy a million books but if you want one that will test your knowledge and really give you samples to interpret there is no greater book than this one .... hands down the best investment I made .... needed to learn to interpret ekgs consistently for work ( I'm a telemetry monitor) and this book was amazing to utilize for my end goal

Missing important pages
The section of the book I needed have been ripped out, (ex. pp. 324-336); even though the rest of the book seems to be in ok condition, this was the topic I needed to review, so the book is not as useful. There is a writing in the book, and that is fine for the "good condition."

Great practice
I bought this to prepare for an ACLS course and found that this was super helpful- I love that there are so many rhythm strips to practice on. Would definitely recommend this book for health professionals and nursing students.

Good intro to coronary care nursing
Good intro to coronary care nursing. Lots of rhythm strips to analyze, and it comes with practice cards at the end of the book that you can take out and practice with on the go and/or by focusing on your weak spots!
