Thule Gauntlet TMPA-113 13 inch MacBook Pro and Retina Display Attache' (Black)

This is a great little case. I recently needed a case for my 13" MBA and iPad for a two week business trip. I bought this case because it had a rugged and stylish look. When I actually got it I was pleased to find that it was indeed very light, stylish, and quite rugged. Not only that it was able to hold my 13" MBA, iPad, 500 MB portable external HD, charging cables, iPhone battery pack, and pencils. With all of that stuff in it it was still light and easy to carry. I had no problems carrying it on a plane. It was easy to open and remove the iPad. The case is very compact and fits snuggly around the MBA. It's not difficult to take the MBA out of the case, but you will have to use some care. Over all a great case.

This is the bag to get if you want a minimalistic bag for your 13" macbook pro.I have a hardshell case on my MBP. The Gauntlet can carry it with a little room to spare. An elastic strap fully secures your laptop by simply sliding it in. The other side has a sleeve with a velcro strap to secure a tablet and even a Surface Pro/iPad. Directly behind is an area that has mesh pouches big enough for all of your accessories, such as cables, hard drives, chargers, etc. The zipper is good and although not easy to open, it will give better protection against water, so will gladly take that over a water-damaged laptop. The exterior is a semi-hard surface that lets you wipe it down with disinfectant wipes easily, something a cloth/leather bag will not let you do. The strap is fairly comfortable as well.One issue is the feature that you are able to use your laptop in the case. This isn't really the case as the bag only allows your laptop to open 90 degrees. If you want to preserve your back/neck I suggest investing in a hardshell case and using the laptop outside the bag.Overall, this is the bag to get for those who have a 13" MBP.

This case is just what I needed for my Macbook Pro. I needed a good case to protect a $1500 laptop, so I made a smart choice and went with the Thule case. Now the zippers may be a little tough to pull and from what other reviewers have said about the zippers coming apart, i'm just being gentle with the zippers. Besides being careful with the zippers, the case seems to do a good job protecting my Macbook. The outside is made with a thick, rubbery type of material. Also there are some supporters inside the case that will keep your case open so you can use your Macbook while it's inside the case. Lastly there are tons of pouches to keep accessories in. There is enough space in there to hold your Macbook, iPad, extended adapter, cell phone, and many other accessories. If you want a good, protective, and roomy case for your Macbook Pro, rely on Thule.

This is a great little case for my mac. It is very rugged, but also stylish. It has more room than you may think. It can hold my mac, notebooks, phone,movies and etc. This is wonderful for a full-time college student. its easy to take across campus and even if rains it offers resistance. Great case and overall a great buy.

Especially, if you're hard on things like me or have kids that drop stuff!It's sleek, stylish, unique (few people have these and you'll get lots of compliments) and really does a great job protecting your macbook.Like other reviewers, I've had trouble with the zipper. My 1st bag broke after a year. Thule improved the design, and my 2nd bag lasted 3 years. My 3rd bag is in the mail - free of charge because of Thule's lifetime warranty on their zippers.Instead of a 3-star or 4-star, I'm giving this a 5-Star rating because, even though the zipper tends to break sooner than we may want, Thule's warranty will give you a NEW bag w/o having to return the defective one you have. Total hassle free, just contact their customer support page, fill out a warranty form and you'll have a new bag in 1 week.Best. Company. Ever.

I have a 13" Yoga that I thought would fit into this size attache but the rounded corners on the attache didn't make that possible. I've since returned this and ordered the 15" attache. That works quite well for my purposes.Overall, nice look, nice construction, seems to have a sturdy strap. The zippers seem a bit difficult at times but that's probably the down side of having a seal that's suppose to be water-tight. If it proves to be water-tight, I'm ok with the difficulty. However, I really don't want to test that aspect of the case any time soon. :-)

Bought this less than a year ago and the zipper finally busted totally today. I had been able to nurse a semi broken zipper for the last few months. While it did a good job protecting our MacBook Pro up to this point. I would only suggest you spend your money on this with the understanding every time you zip or unzip it, it is one zip closer to being a useless product. Look elsewhere if you want to get a good return on your hard earned money.

Bad zipper design, or perhaps I received a defective one, could not use, sadly I love the smart bag design but had to return it., due to jammed zipper.
