REVIEW UPDATE: 10/4/2020 So I’ve had a couple of days to really play around with this, and I changed my review from 5 stars to 4. It is still a great replacement for Apple’s pencil, but there are some things I discovered about this one. First, I would have found it helpful to include some details in the manual at least, about the different colored LED lights and what they mean. It displayed 4 colors since I’ve had it: Blue: the pen is on Purple: the first time I plugged it in to be charged Red: (while charging) Green: fully charged *It comes with its own charging cord (not an Apple connection) and it charged pretty fast. It writes effortlessly and smoothly across my screen with very little pressure. I really appreciate the palm rejection feature too. But I noticed that while I’m actively using the pen for any period of time, that it shuts off on its own. Sometimes it’s only been idle for a few minutes before it shuts off, other times while I’m writing or drawing in mid-stroke. Just barely touching the top of the pen turns it on and off, and sometimes it gets turned on accidentally. These are just a few little things I’ve noticed since I’ve gotten it. I do enjoy having this type of tech tool that does everything I need it to, and I think it’s definitely worth the $30 I spent. Since I’ve never owned an Apple Pencil, I can’t honestly compare it to that. So, I’ll continue using it and when I feel like I need an upgrade, an Apple Pencil it will be. But until then, I’m completely content with this one. REVIEW: 4/5 ———————— I just got it in today’s mail, and I started playing with it right away. I had originally wanted an Apple Pencil, but found this one at a great price. I won’t feel absolutely horrible or heartbroken if I break it, lose it, etc. I love the way it feels in my hand. It has a good weight and doesn’t look or feel cheap. It writes beautifully and smoothly on my iPad 7 (with glass screen protector). It also has palm rejection, so there’s no glove to be worn. I also love that it has a cap, is magnetic, and comes with extra nibs for the stylus. I think this is a great way to go if you aren’t ready to shell out the dough for Apple’s pencil. I’ll definitely play around with it more before I talk about how it performs, as I’ve only just received it. So I will update my review accordingly. The XIRON stylus is surprisingly well-built and has a premium quality feel to it. It’s very comfortable to hold and is very accurate when it comes to writing, with basically no delay. Best part is it’s future-proof, with a USB-C charging port. Some areas where it is lacking include the way you turn it on. With a soft touch on the other end of the stylus, it turns on very easily but at the same time, it has the potential to turn off just as easily. Maybe a long press to turn off would’ve been better. Another feature that’s lacking is pressure sensitivity while writing, but it looks like this feature can only be found on the Apple Pencil. My last concern is with the sound it makes when writing on the iPad. Personally, I haven’t used the Apple Pencil so not sure how loud that product is but with the XIRON stylus, you have to be consciously aware to not creating the loud tapping noise when writing or using the pen in general. In a normal coffee shop environment, you won’t really hear it that much but in a quieter setting like your home office or meeting room, it’s very noticeable. To combat this, I taped a piece of bandage wrap to the tip of the stylus (as seen in the second picture), and it has completely eliminated all the noise. I was trying to find the right balance between eliminating the sound but also maintaining the premium finish of the product and I think the resulting product has come out well. And my DIY silencer hasn’t impacted the accuracy of the stylus whatsoever. Hopefully, in future iterations of this product, XIRON can try to improve the stylus by incorporating a quiet touch tip. With that being said, for the price of $40, this is fantastic alternative to the overpriced Apple Pencil. Unless you’re an artist, pressure sensitivity shouldn’t really be a concern and if the tapping noise is bothering you, you can eliminate it in just a few minutes.

This “Apple Pencil” is incredible. I can’t imagine buying the Apple brand version when this is a third of the price and works phenomenally. I use this on a matte (Supershieldz screen protector, anti glare and antifingerprint, Amazon) screen protector and there is never any lag when drawing and writing. I use this for my college classes so I am using it on a daily basis and haven’t had any problems after a month of use. I also haven’t seen any wear on the tip. I would recommended using a screen protector because of the fine tip like this because it will create small scratches on the screen (any tipped stylus will) and those small scratches pile up very quickly. I also recommend a matte screen if you are using it for writing frequently since it gives more grip and a more natural writing experience than on the glass. The pencil also sits very nicely in my case designed to hold an Apple Pencil. I’d imagine it would fit in any stylus case. The battery life is great and I use it for a few hours, many days in a row without charging. It comes with an extra tip and a charging cable. Turning it on and off is super easy because you just tap the top. The palm rejection really impressed me since you don’t actually sync it to the iPad and the iPad recognizes it anyways. I was worried about not having pressure sensitivity with this but even when I use it for digital art, it isn’t a big deal. I think the only time it would be nice to have the pressure sensitivity would be for digital calligraphy. If you aren’t using it for that then this is equivalent to the Apple Pencil. Will be buying again if I have a need to.

Cheap and works great comes with extra tips good for writting and colouring rechargeable has a light to show if it’s on or off but can be sensitive if tapped by accident on items. Much better than buying the apple pen had it for 10 months now still works don’t use it often. Would definitely buy again if this one gets lost for $14.
