Dissolves thoroughly… good stuff for spoon feeding lawn.
This product pairs well with Ammonium Sulfate, Potassium Sulfate and just a little Peter’s Professional 5-12-26 Jack’s Nutrients for smaller yards. Preferred Equipment: FlowZone Cyclone (the Cyclone has better control than the Typhoon) Preferred TeeJet Tip: TTI11004 (the TTI series has huge droplet size ideal for soil application and minimal wind drift). Random info if you want it below - - - - - - - - 2023 aim for my front yard… 3.1# Nitrogen, 1.2# Phosphorus, 2.5# Potassium. PH has already been addressed. 100% perennial ryegrass lawn in Washington State. My back yard is larger and not appropriate for water soluble fertilizers, so my recommendation for larger areas is 13-5-8 ProPEAT (especially when it’s cooler), and Scott’s “Winterguard” Fall Lawn Food (32-0-10) is a near premium fertilizer that does a great job on a budget for cool season lawns… ignore the “Fall/Winter” mentions on the bag… also a good fertilizer for mid spring (cool season grass). For warm season you’ll need some phosphorus in the bag! Typical N rate sprayed: .08-.25 pounds / 1000’ Typical N rate granular: .5-1.00 pounds / 1000’ .10#N (AMS) / gallon max .20#N (Urea) / gallon max (So… lots of water needed when applying higher rates of N via liquids) Typical ProPEAT rate (AMS based): .35-.75#N / 1000’ Urea based granular typical rate: .75-1.25#N / 1000’ How to calculate fertilizer needed per application: Target rate of Nitrogen or other desired nutrient (.??) / % nitrogen in product (.??) X area (?),000 square feet) To apply .2#N to 2,000 square feet of a 10-10-10 fertilizer… (.2/.1)x2 = 4 pounds of 10-10-10 fertilizer needed to apply .2# of nitrogen to 2,000 square feet. This formula works for all granular fertilizers, premixed liquids, or water soluble fertilizers. The first thing that goes into the calculator is always your desired target rate of whatever nutrient your aiming to apply. To spread any fertilizer without worrying about spreading evenly, set sprayer or spreader to a low setting and walk the area from multiple directions until the weighed out product is gone.
