Worked great for out of reach lightbulb
When the bulb over our staircase went out we wondered how to replace it. Since it’s above stairs, about 15’ up, a ladder wasn’t a safe option. I already had an extension pole so I didn’t need a changer that included a pole. This kit includes options for multiple bulb sizes and for removing the base of broken bulbs. I only used the one for a standard incandescent bulbs and it worked great. Was able to remove the old bulb and screw in a new one while standing on solid ground. Much less expensive than a possible trip to the hospital.

Works really well, but you have to drill a hole.
The rubber plug thing saved the day when one of my light bulbs broke out of the metal base, leaving the metal base in the socket. Worked really well at getting it out ........ however........ the thumbscrews that are supposed to clamp the broken bulb extractor plastic threaded base to a pole don't work at all. It won't prevent the bulb extractor from coming off the pole. Thumb screws are completely ineffective ...... however ...... if you drill a 5/32 hole through the plastic threaded bulb extractor base and the end of the pole and put in a long #6 screw through the plastic and pole - it prevents the bulb extractor from unscrewing. Voila! I would have given it 5 stars but I had to drill a hole

This one works!
I had a Bayco bulb replacement tool that performed marginally. The set screws that keep the baskets from rotating cause the plastic to break almost immediately when you tighten them to the pole. When this happens the end of the pole rotates inside the receptacle on the basket and the bulb stays in place. I usually end up putting the tool away, getting my ladder and doing the job that way. My most recent burn out happened on trash day so I finally decided to throw the old tool away and run to the hardware store and grab a new one but all they had was the same piece of junk I just threw away. I did a little online research and found a video review of the Ettore kit. The thing that stood out was that there was a hole in the end of their pole that the set screw went into that keeps the basket from rotating without cracking the plastic. I would imagine they were getting the same complaints as the other manufacturers but they decided to do something about it. I had to buy the Ettore pole separately since it wasn't available as a kit. Anyway, I know this is a long review but I figure if I explain why this tool is better people can make an intelligent decision. My ladder can stay outside.😁

Works where another failed with one caution
I just used this the first time on a outdoor spotlight in a socket three stories up. I used the pole in the link below which I highly recommend as well. It gripped the bulb well. You have to press up to get friction. You also have to angle the pole slightly to get it to grasp the bulb. One caution, the thumbscrew looked pitifully bad and likely to strip so I taped the screw on connection to the pole with metal backed furnace tape before using. This is much better than lugging out a ladder (I may not bounce as well as I get older). I don't need and didn't use the other attachments. VERY handy easy to use set of screw in tools to change out ceiling or ceiling fan bulbs
Every screw on widget for the end of your telescoping pole you will need to change out your ceiling or ceiling fan bulbs you will need, even has the tip you need if your bulb breaks apart while you are trying to change it. You usually don't need something like this daily but will be happy when you need it.

Worked like a charm ...thanks to duct tape!
My ceilings are 12 ft high, so I needed something to help me change my lightbulbs. This product really made all the difference! Someone in the comments suggested using duct tape to hold the apparatus to the pole. At first, I tried using it as the instructions said, but the attachment wanted to unscrew from the pole. However, the duct tape trick worked and I was able to change out 4 lights in a few minutes. I felt the 'set screw' on the side would do little except damage the plastic threads on my pole, so I just removed it, screwed the appliance to the pole, and wrapped the duct tape around both. Worked like a charm! Thank you to the person who made the suggestion. I only wish Ettore would fix the issue with attachment and I'd give it 5 Stars!

Assembly instructions lacking
I bought this Ettore Bulb Changer Pole because I have high vaulted ceilings with about 36 recessed lights. I have only used it with the large bulb changer & it worked very well. I would rate it higher except for the lack of instructions for fastening the attachments to the pole (Read the many 1-star reviews.) The attachments screw onto the pole end and then are fixed/locked in place with a thumbscrew that is intended to fit into the hole in the pole. IT IS NOT A SET SCREW which is what many buyers mistakenly assume when they put the attachment on. If the holes are not aligned, they strip the plastic threads in the attachment, ruining the attachment. The holes in the pole and the attachment must be aligned to allow the thumbscrew to fit into the hole in the pole that locks the attachment in place. If properly aligned, the thumbscrew will screw all the way in. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!!

Why did you choose this product over others?: I was struggling to remove my spotlight with the ordinary spotlight remover, where it wasn’t creating a full suction on the light. This product straight away created a suction. I was able to remove the spotlight. Would recommend

I was skeptical when this arrived. I thought it might break the bulbs when trying to remove it but it worked perfectly. Used the small one to remove a small CFL and used the large to install a super bright large LED bulb in the garage using a standard broom handle we already had. Flawless and thankfully didn’t need to test out the broken bulb pulling tools today. This is a 10/10 for easy to use and good quality.
