As far as Tahini goes - it has good flavor. It is a bit on the darker side but after shipping and sitting on a shelf for a couple of weeks there was not significant oil separation. This would be on my Buy Again list however - the packing is a big no. Very much like the cap of a gallon of milk - the snap-on/pry-off lid initially removes with a very narrow pull tab - except that tab was far too short to grasp unless you have the fingertips of a toddler. I had to resort to a pair of needle-nose pliers. The lip of the lid is not deep and is thin - it doesn't seat well to the jar, doesn't stay seated, and once it's fully in place - it's not easy to remove. The lid rolled and flexed until I used a knife blade to pry it off. I've since opted for storing in a resealable container because of the annoyances. It may seem like a silly complaint - unless you're hungry and have tired hands. Update to Original Review:: shortly after my review posted, I received a refreshing and very kind message from ROOTS regarding my struggles with the packaging. It wasn’t the typical copy/paste response, it was an offer of help and support. In spite of the silly struggle I had with packaging- I wouldn’t hesitate to reorder Roots Tahini, because I know if I ever had a real problem- they would help make things right.

I usually try and get Tahini from my middle eastern market but due to Coivd, their shipments seemed to be older (where the oil separates at the top and the rest of the sediment ends up clogged and gummy). So glad I found this. Its great value and it seems relatively fresh, with no separated oil. The packaging is strong and that's important because it doesn't spill or leak,. There's another brand that I used to get (I forget the name, I believe it's from Israel) but half the time I'd get a leaky package so I wanted to give this a try. So glad I did. Super creamy and excellent in hummus and the Tahini dressing that I put on EVERYTHING lol.

Re: ROOTS Tahini I love Tahini for it's satisfying flavor alone as a condiment and for making Hummus. It's very fresh and a great price. It arrived with NO PRODUCT DAMAGE, or leaks! For me, this seed butter is preferred over peanut or other nut butters. Be aware that overdoing it will bind up your gut, just like any other seed or nut butter. So, try to limit use to 1 or MAX 2 tblsp. a day. Great buy!

We try to keep tahini in the house, as we love hummus. This is less expensive than our local grocery, and the flavor is better. One of the jars leaked in the package, so it could have been packed better for shipping.

I love this tahini. This was a reorder. It’s smooth, easy to mix because it’s fresh. Highly recommend
