Quality Wii component cables at a good price
I've been getting back into playing games on Nintendo's Wii console lately, mostly because of the homebrew scene and how it's possible to run games off of a hard drive. I had a Wii console that I hadn't used in a long while, and I've come to enjoy the games I never got to play up until now. Of course, I've been playing through component cables and a 480p signal since it's the best the Wii has to offer. However, the Monster brand cables that I was using were going bad. The image had some static if one looked closely enough, and periodically the picture began to drop out. If I was playing a game that required quick button presses, motions or stick movements this would be a problem. Initially, I thought it was just the console. However, I happened to have more than one Wii and TV set. After swapping out Wiis and trying TV sets, I concluded that it was the cables going bad. I didn't want to put up with this, so I set out to find a solution. Then HD Retrovision once again came to save the day. Specifically, it so happened that they had their own Wii component cables on the market. This, of course, was in response to giving Wii owners superior cables at a fair price compared to the rare and expensive genuine cables, and the cheap and poorly made unbranded or third party cables. After ordering the cables, and waiting a little longer than expected due to Hurricane Dorian, they finally arrived and I installed them no problem. The results were almost immediate; the picture was crystal clear, and it never dropped out even once. I was effectively back to playing Wii games with cables that were better than the genuine and the third party brands combined. Overall if you need some component cables for your Wii or even Wii U system that's worthwhile, HD Retrovision's cables fit the bill perfectly. They're light years beyond the third party cables, and even surpass the genuine Nintendo component cables, too. Hats off to HD Retrovision for another quality product.

Top Tier Visuals
Best component cables for the Wii by a mile. I use these with an old CRT TV and the image quality is perfect and probably the best you can get on a CRT. Wires feel sturdy and well made.

Worthy upgrade especially for CRT enthusiasts
Very good price, good quality, let me see my old Wii in a way I never had before on my trinitron. Display is much more definite and colors stronger and more separated compared to a composite signal.

not the best buiild quality
good but not the strongest. the individual cords are not that well protected so they can start to rip if youre not careful. Video looks good though.

Better quality than original Nintendo cables
Not all Wii component cables are created equal. In fact most of the plentiful cheap cables being sold today are terrible. Since component video is analog the signal can easily be degraded with cheap materials, poor construction and insufficient or nonexistent shielding. Up until now the best component cables were the official Nintendo cables which usually cost around $30 to $40 used. HD Retrovision made these to even more exacting standards than Nintendo. Honestly the difference is slight but it is noticeable if you know what to look for. In my case there’s a very faint yellowing of the picture with OEM cables that these clean up perfectly. To be fair I’ve invested pretty heavily in my gaming setup to get the absolute best quality so I use these through an Open Source Scan Converter which while providing a superior picture will also reveal all the flaws just like high end audio equipment will reveal the flaws in poor recordings. That’s where the difference really starts to show. (By which I mean the difference between HDRV cables and Nintendo cables - the cheap off brand cables are so bad I can almost spot them blindfolded) Even if you’re not a perfectionist though there’s a huge difference between these and the other cheap off brand cables. I inherited a pair of cheap cables when I bought a used Wii and the signal degradation is so bad with those they’re barely better than composite cables. So if you care at all about the quality of the image, accept no substitute. Not only are these actually better than official Nintendo cables, they’re priced so reasonably there really is no reason to go with anything else. I believe Nintendo has long since stopped making new cables for the Wii so this really is your only quality option.

Great Picture Quality
HD Retrovision's cables are well known for being very well shielded to prevent any "color bleeding" or "interference of the video signal. I own both this set of cables for the Wii as well as a similar set for the PlayStation 2. I have had no problems with either one and they perform perfectly. Most stock component cables are perfectly passable and it's not a radical night and day difference between them and the HD Retrovision cables, but there definitely is a difference. I would classify these cables as a premium item. They are slightly more expensive than most other component cables, but do offer a superior experience. By no means do I think it's necessary to buy these cables over others to enjoy playing games on your Wii, but if you want the best picture quality available through component cables and can afford them, I'd very much recommend this product. A small note. These cables are specifically made for the Wii and Wii U. They will not connect to other game consoles. They are also component cables. NOT composite cables. This means they have the 5 colored jacks (3 for video and 2 for audio) that plug into your television NOT the 3 colored jacks. Hope this all helps. Cheers!

By Far the Greatest Wii Component Cable, Courtesy of the Greatest Component Cable Company
I'll have to admit it: I didn't really like this product at first. Although I had (and still have) nothing but praise for HD Retrovision's line of component cables for various retro gaming consoles, it seemed that my particular Wii component cable made the picture slightly brighter on my Sony Trinitron CRT, but didn't actually sharpen and clean up the image. I went to bed that night confused and disappointed. The next day, I had the idea of connecting my cables to my computer monitor via an OSSC, or Open Source Scan Converter. For the uninitiated, it's a small box that upscales retro gaming consoles to modern displays with little to no lag. As I normally play video games on a CRT, connecting to a monitor wasn't my first choice. When everything was set up, I was blown away by how crisp everything looked; objects were sharp (but not too sharp), there was no noise whatsoever in the picture at all times and there was no audio buzz to speak of. All three of those issues are highly commonplace on all but a handful of Wii Component cables. The results were further enhanced by playing on a CRT. As highlighted in the other Amazon reviews as of this writing, HD Retrovision has not only enhanced the way people view old games and play them, but they've perfected the art of build quality and truly created a very positive vision (both literally and figuratively) for the future of retro gaming. Ste and Nick, if you ever read this (which I'm sure you will) I want you both to know just how much better you've made my experience with my retro gaming, and how much you've made thousands of other people enjoy their retro gaming experience even more than they already do. Oh, and keep drinking Dr. Pepper.
