Ghirardelli Chocolate Premium Hot Cocoa Mix, 32-Ounce Packages (Pack of 2)

This is a repurchase just in a different size and packaging. Love Ghiradelli's rich chocolate taste and option to stir into boiled water or milk. The price compared to other similar brands and for this larger size package was really good. Definitely recommend.

Never found a better tasting hot chocolate out of the dozens of brands I've tried. I've bought about 25 of these over the last few years

I usually drink Swiss Miss cocoa in the winter after around 2:00 or later because I don't want the caffeine from a cup of coffee. I prefer coffee but I also like to sleep at night so cocoa is a tasty and warm welcome afternoon cup of pick-me-up. After years of drinking one brand I thought "Well, might as well give something else a try, you won't know if you're missing out otherwise."So I bought a bag of this Ghirardelli cocoa mix and was far from overwhelmed.I make cocoa in a large mug. I fill the mug halfway up with hot water from my hot water dispenser. I put the cocoa in the water and stir it good until it's all dissolved. I then fill the mug up with whole milk and microwave it for a minute and thirty seconds. This goes for whatever kind of cocoa I'm making. The whole milk when mixed with the hot water and cocoa gives me the same result (more or less) as if I'd used 2% milk alone and this method is much easier than heating milk and risking scalding it. Doing it this way takes about 3 minutes from the decision to have a cup of hot cocoa to sitting at my desk with a steaming mug of cocoa on a coaster. So I probably would not drink as much hot cocoa as often if I had to put more time and effort into the process. I'm not what I'd consider a "connoisseur", this just makes a cup of great hot cocoa fast and easy.This Ghirardelli brand tastes OK but I don't like it as much as the Swiss Miss so I'll be going back to that when this package is exhausted. It tastes good but not great. I don't see it being so good that I make a brand switch because of the flavor. I think it's more a matter of personal tastes than anything else. It's not like this stuff is some sort of esoteric exotic gourmet chocolate that brings an amazing new and better experience, it's just different. I usually use two heaping teaspoons (actually it's a heaping sugar shell that belonged to my Grandmother) of mix in my hot cocoa. Three tablespoons seems a bit much. Sometimes I throw a rounded teaspoon of powdered coffee creamer, like Nestlé's Caramel Latte or some such, in just to mix things up a little.

So delicious but... OH! does the price fluctuate! So, having purchased it before at a much lower price at Amazon, I played the "waiting game" till the price came down again and ended up saving about $10.

I may be addicted to this.

This is the best chocolate! I love it. If you love a good smooth hot chocolate this is your best bet. Very much recommend.
