Cheap, reliable USB hub that DOESN'T fry your m1 macbook
When I switched from Windows to Mac, one of my biggest annoyances was the sheer lack of ports. So, I set out to buy an inexpensive USB hub.Initially, from reading around the internet, I was worried that many of these cheap USB hubs were low quality ones that would immediately fry your macbook when plugged in because of an issue with the passthrough usb-c charging. However, the reviews on this one seemed promising, and I decided to give it a shot. Lo and behold, it worked perfectly and thankfully did NOT fry my macbook. Now, I have so many more ports on my macbook, and I've been using this hub to connect an external monitor and keyboard, as well as occasionally to transfer pictures from my camera using the SD card slot. I would definitely recommend this USB hub as a reliable, inexpensive alternative to some of the more pricey ones. However, there are some minor annoyances that you should be aware of:- The USB 3 ports are upside down, so you will have to plug your devices in differently than you're used to, this does not affect functionality at all, just orientation of the cable- The light on the hub stays on even when the mac is put to sleep- It's kind of difficult to plug/unplug the hub initially, but after a few times, it becomes easier.

That's a pretty good gold colored HUB, and pretty too
It works fine but guys, pay attention to some issues that may arise not because something might be wrong with the HUB, but because you have no knowledge of why and what to do about it.First of all, I've read some reviews here where customers were complaining the HUB doesn't work when they plugged it into their Macbook ports (I have a Macbook Air M1). At first I thought that too, but you really need to push/press it a bit rough into your Macbook ports until you hear a noise, a pop, and only then you'll see the HUB light on, which means it is finally connected to your Macbook. If you're delicate and don't push it, the HUB will not really plug in. Next thing you may run into - I purchased the HUB primarily because I needed to copy some files juggling two Macbooks and an external hard drive, so I tried to do exactly that and noticed it wouldn't copy files into an external drive (1TB Toshiba). It doesn't mean your HUB doesn't work, it means either you need to change its permissions settings (Google it), or you need to to format your external hard drive (Google it as well).

Great Gear!
I have been using this Hub for a few weeks now and all I can say is it works great. I use it on my 2018 MacBook Air. I have the Space Gray version and it's color is almost identical to the MacBook's color. When plugged in, it looks like it is a part of the MacBook, which I appreciate. I have tried all the ports, and all work as they should. I used it this morning for a presentation at work using the HDMI port. I had multiple comments on it and questions as to where they could get one too. When I ordered it, I thought the price was a little high, but I don't feel that way any longer. It is well worth what I paid for it. It has made working easier as I have everything I need in one device as opposed to carrying multiple adapters and whatnot along with me.I'm very happy with the purchase, and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs USB A and C, HDMI, and SD/ Micro SD readers.

Good quality product
Great product and price. It's been about 4 years since I purchased it and it still works well.

Looks like it came with it!
This hub is a perfect color match for my MacBook Air gold. It looks really nice, and works great so far, which is just about a week now. I think it'll probably be on there all the time.

Convenient docking station
I bought a MacBook Air, but have gotten annoyed with no built-in ports. I was using a USB-C pig tail to upload photos. I wanted something that would allow me to upload pictures from an sd card and micro sd, USB-C, and plug in my external hard drive. The Nov8tech docking station had it all for me. It uses both USB-c ports on ur MacBook, but gives you a Thunderbolt plug in to charge the laptop, a USB-C port, an HDMI port, an sd card slot and a micro SD slot. It has been a lifesaver for my business. The only downfall is it stick out front the laptop and is kinda bulky. Its hard to put it in the shell case that I use. Not a deal breaker though.

Satisfied customer
I bought this USB-C Hub from Amazon for my MacBook Air. When I first got it, I was afraid it did not work. It did not recognize my thumb drive in the USB port. After I removed my thumb drive and the hub several times and reinserted them, the hub and laptop finally recognized each other. There was no recognition problem with my memory card. I noticed that a blue light comes on inside the hub when recognized by the laptop. That is very helpful since I take the hub off when I don't need it. Although I sometimes have to fiddle with the hub a little when I put it on to get blue light recognition, once on, the hub does what I want it to do, is easy to carry when on the laptop, and looks good on the laptop.

Works great, but….
Works great, but my only problem is you can not have a full laptop protector in order for it to work. Had to take the protective case off of the bottom of my MacBook to get this piece to snap in all the way.
