No it does not, and since it requires 2.5 amp at 18 volts, it would take a very sizable rechargeable battery to power the system. On the plus side, it does have the volume and base response that you would expect from an A/C powered system and the trade off is very worthwhile.

Does this device have AC Power in stead of a battery and with it work for an IPAD 4 ?

It does have AC power. Should work with any device with Bluetooth or a 1/8 headphone jack. Has it's own (optional) software but seems to work ok with iTunes and Bluetooth. Can be a little touchy to connect to and have had to unplug and start from scratch a couple times. But sound is superior to similar units and I did the comparisons. Hope that helps

Yes, it will work with any device that supports Bluetooth but if you want to doc it, it will work with any iPhone before those with the new lightning port (5 and later).
