Works a described
I was spectacle of purchasing this cap because of the breakage rate, but I gave it a chance. Used this cap to drive a 30’ well and it worked great. I would purchase again.

No good
Piece of junk, tightened completely, beat on it squarely for30 seconds and its internal threads stripped leaving it stuck on the pipe, also to fat for my fence post driver. Don't waste your time or money

Keep it TIGHT while using
Make SURE you check every half dozen sledge hammer blows for tightness. It frequently comes loose and if you continue to hit it while loose it destroys the threads of course. Not a product flaw. Otherwise works great for hammering in pipe for a sand point well.

Easy use
Setup & easy to use. Best use is sugar sand soil. Meaning soil that’s good for growing watermelons.

Stripped all the threads on the pipe and became fused with the pipe to the point where it needs to be sawn off. Will most likely hammer a coupling or the piece of broken pipe instead to drive it down. Need to figure out how to pull the sand point and 5 feet of pipe that is already driven into the ground.

Fell apart after 10 swings of the hammer. I tightened it down to the 1 1/4" pipe to ensure it was seated properly, then after hitting it with a 4lb mallet (a light weight sledge hammer) it broke in two pieces, and wrecked the threads of the 3' pipe I had it attached to. I just ended up using the 3' piece of pipe as the driving point since it was already ruined.
