Tastes really good! Don’t forget to dilute
So when you get this the texture is very thick, so I recommend diluting it a little, which makes this last longer too by the way. Learned about this brand through my husband & it’s worth it, they have a variety of flavors, but the jalapeño one it the best. It’s definitely worth the money you pay for it. Ironically you get more cheese than cheese wiz & all the other squeeze cheeses.

My husband bought these he said they are the exact ones from prison. lol smh He still likes to make spreads & he says they never go wrong with this brand.

Fun choice for me!
Considering similar products, this has much more flavor and better texture than expected from the reviews. Compared to Kraft Low Fat Cheddar Singles? I think the flavor is about the same . . . add that hint of jalapeno! My grandchildren (7 and 5 years old) are accustomed to 'real' block sharp cheddar cheese and they have fun being creative with the squeeze patterns. These two children are hesitant to try anything new . . . "What's this?," as they look in the fridge. Try this on warm multi grain wheat toast or warm in the microwave for a quick dip for crackers. Add red pepper flakes, extra jalapeno, chunky salsa or add a slice of tomato or avocado for a quick fix sandwich (toasted whole wheat bread or honey wheat toasted bagel). 'Canned' flavor? Compares to Frito-Lay jalapeno cheese dip . . . much better cheese flavor than the Hormel Compleats Dinners! Convenient to store on fridge door shelf and easy to use . . . remove safety seal, recap and squeeze! A thank you for the reviews . . . an Amazon plus for those of us who do not like 'real' shopping! [This is a 'second order' for me.]

Versatile and unexpectedly good taste
I am a cheese lover. I have tried and love so many different types of cheese that I would be hard-pressed if I had to select only one for that desert island exile should it ever materialize. Actually, I had never tried (to my knowledge) any packaged cheese product in a can or a bottle until I purchased a bottle of this Old Fashioned Cheese Jalapeno Squeeze Cheese on a whim last month. Since I also love hot stuff, I thought I could squeeze it onto tortilla chips if in a bind. Shocker to me, I've really found this product to be quite the treat in numerous applications. I've had it on bread, vegetables, chips, rice, mixed into eggs, and even straight onto the tongue. Perhaps it's the times now, but for whatever reasons, I've enjoyed this bottle of cheese stuff even though I still don't know whose votes selected it as the "best." I've kept it in the refrigerator because I was not sure if it was shelf-stable once opened and I didn't want to take a chance. The texture and viscosity have remained unchanged but it takes a minute longer to warm the bottle in the hands before squeezing out the cheese and jalapeno mixture.

I have had better cheese.
It's ok, it's got a bit of an odd flavor. It's not terrible but, it's not my favorite either. I lived in Wisconsin where they make some of the best cheese in the world as far as I'm concerned. I'm not exactly sure where this really comes from , but it's probably not Wisconsin.

A little slice of incarceration
So if you were ever incarcerated and came out looking for Cactus Annie’s jalepeno squeeze cheese and can’t find it because it’s a made for prisons and jails only, then this is what you want. TDCJ now sells this on commissary and so I decided to try it and see if it’s the same Cactus Annie’s. Smells and tastes the exact same. In fact this company private labels their products, which leads me to believe they label it Cactus Annie’s also, since I can’t find anyone else that makes a jalepeno squeeze cheese by any other company. So if you wanted to reminisce about spreading with your homeboys in the joint, get some of this to go with your soups and summer sausage etc.
