Laser Projection Virtual Keyboard

I actually got this as a present yet tried it out at home to make sure it worked (and just because I was so excited about it). It was much smaller than I expected which I liked. The red keyboard is clearly visible on a black and wooden surface which I tried it on. On certain surfaces you might need to adjust the brightness which is super easy and absolutely no problem. It connected to my iPhone instantly with no problem. Typing works well but needs some patience, you can not write on it as fast as with a regular keyboard since the technology is relatively new. However, the gadget fulfills its purpose to aid typing on small devices or tablets-you can even play typing games on there!All in all, it is super fun and works well! I also love that you can attach it to your key chain and carry it around without losing it where ever you go.

This is a pretty flakey device. Under exactly the right conditions, it works just OK. There are lots of situations where I cannot get reliable results however - tables with glass or plastic protectors on top of them (80% of the places I need it), surfaces with a texture - cloth, placemats, etc.), and anything that can slip a little (placemats, paper or cardboard). When the surface is just right, then the accuracy becomes more of an issue - for example it is difficult to get the shift key to work and pressing space bar frequently does nothing. On my Android, the autocorrect features are not available, and I have tried three different keyboard programs in addition to the native one.The only reason I gave this 2 stars rather than 1 is because I am a gadget person and people like to see what cool new gadget I have. This definitely attracts attention. That may or may not be a plus for you.

I am a perpetual iPhone typer. I take my iPhone everywhere with me - texting, writing back to emails, surfing the web. But I get thumb cramps trying to type on the tiny keyboard. So when I saw this product, I was so excited to try it out. Amazing so far! The module is much smaller than I envisioned, and stuck it easily in my purse with me. Went to lunch today at a cafe and was able to write back to so many emails. Keyboard is almost exactly like a full sized keyboard, so I didn't have to get used to different keystrokes or typing. I was afriad it might be akward typing on a table and might have to pound harder, but it was pretty sensitive to touch and is just like having a laptop keyboard front of me, without the bulky size. I had a few people at the cafe come up to me and ask me what I was doing. I let them try it out, too and everyone was really impressed. I've only had this for a few days, but it's been great. The only thing I would mention is the space bar is slightly a lighter color than the rest of the keyboard, but it might have been the angle I was at. Did not hinder typing at all. Really excited to recommend to all my friends. GREAT product!

The idea is better than the execution. We bought this for use with an iPad...while it looks pretty cool, it isn't very accurate or easy to use. You have to experiment with placement to get all of the keys to project properly, and even after careful placement, accuracy is not a given. You have to very slow and deliberate when typing on it.

Bought this because it was simply one if the coolest things I had ever seen. It's blue tooth enabled so you can use it to text or write lengthy emails on your phone. It does work for your computer while connected via the included USB cable. I will say that it turns heads like no other when other people see it. The one time I brought it to work, I had quite a few people come up to me and ask what I was doing! The only reason why I gave this 4 stars is because the typing is pretty sensitive (even on the lowest sensitivity) and there definitely is a learning curve to using it. It takes practice. I would highly reccomend using this device in conjunction with SwiftKey from the Google play store. Its correction capabilities makes it possible for me to type as fast as I would on a normal keyboard with it.To thoes reviewers complaining that the input is laggy, it is laggy UNTIL you update the firmware of the device at CTXtechnologies.Com. After the update, they keyboard becomes incredibly responsive and it even offers additional power saving options!

I bought this for my Kindle HDX 8.9. It took some getting used to but works great. I have not used it for long periods of time but the battery seems to last a long time. When I first used it, the keys didn't seem to work well but with practice and adjusting some of the settings it works awesome. It seems to work best on a darker surface. It would be nice if it came with a little mat that was dark on one side and light on the other side that you could use for the keyboard like you do for a mouse pad.

Very cool idea. Very bad functionality. My hope is Brookstone is working on refining the idea, as it's a good one, but this product shouldn't have been released yet...it's really not good.

I love the concept but the technology isn't there, yet. The keyboard is laggy and doesn't type accurately. I'm a very fast typist and it can't keep up with me. Other reviewers say they have updated the firmware and it's much better. I tried to update the firmware as instructed but the update application doesn't work. I tried contacting the company but no one answered. I requested update information from the company via Amazon (where I purchased it) but all they did was send me a return label. After a few hours of trying to get the firmware to update, I gave up and returned it. Too bad, because I really wanted it to be awesome.
