Syngenta 46256 Tenacity 8oz Herbicide, Clear

I recently purchased Syngenta Tenacity (8 oz), and I couldn’t be more impressed with its performance. This is a truly high-quality, professional-grade selective herbicide, and it shows in every aspect. Tenacity mixes easily, applies smoothly, and works exactly as intended when used with the proper surfactant and application rates. Within just a few days, I began to see targeted weeds—like crabgrass, clover, and other broadleaf and grassy varieties—turn white as the product interrupted their photosynthesis. It provided clean, consistent, and uniform control across the treated areas without damaging my desirable turf. What really stands out is how versatile and effective it is for both pre-emergent and post-emergent applications. The coverage is excellent, the results are reliable, and it’s noticeably more powerful and precise than anything you’d get from big-box store lawn treatments. Works as it should when applied correctly using the recommended application rates. Mixes easily and spray application ensures good distribution on the product.

Tenacity vs Tenacious Crabgrass. I inherited a ton of crabgrass, various sorts apparently. I hate it. I had not found anything effective and was excited to try this. It has not been the miracle cure others have claimed it to be. I’d say it’s a little less than 50% effective. It’s 100% effective at turning exposed grass stems white, but I noticed the green blades just keep growing under the white, dead blades. This is even after repeat applications as directed. It’s more effective against weaker weeds. I’ll keep using it, and I’ll buy it again, because frankly it’s cheap. Do NOT Be fooled by the small size and seemingly high cost. Even with the surfactant and dye, the total cost is roughly $1/ gal at prescribed doses. It’s 50% effective against crabgrass, but that’s 50% better than other products I’ve tried. I’ll keep throwing it on and whittle away at the weeds.

It's expensive and at first didn't appear to work. It turned my grass white and the weeds were still green. After 2 weeks the weeds were dead and after 3 weeks my grass was green again. Just have patients. It's better than pulling the weeds out with a screwdriver for sure

This stuff is the best for lawn herbicide. I use it every year and every year I have people stop on the road and ask what company I use and I tell them I use tenacity and I quit using a company. you won’t be disappointed. start using it. I applied it a few times a year in the beginning and now I just have to use it once sometimes 2 times.

Overall Tenacity will somewhat control berumda grass however there are some drawbacks to consider. I have used this in an attempt to control berumda grass for two years and have had some sucess controling bermuda grass and it does turn the blades white indicating that the the plant is damaged. However the plant stays white for about 10-12 weeks making the treated areas extremely obvious for pretty much the entire growing season making the lawn look awful. I can work about four follow-up applications and frankly it does not seem to cripple the bermuda grass enough and in fact it is spreading. I have a tall fescue lawn in a "transition area" (zone 7b) and berumda grass is a gigantic problem. After two years of use I have decided to use a non-selective grass killer (Glyphosate) with repeated applications to kill all the grass and then re-seed. I would much rather see a few weeks of dead grass than brillant white for an entire season. I do understand that even glyphosate will not entirely kill bermuda grass but my experience is that it will put it in full retreat.. Tenacity does control many other weeds and it may be worth using for those, however I cannot recommend for bermuda grass control.

The product works well but the syringe did not fit into the surfactant bottle which was purchased separately. I used it to rid my lawn of a weed called brome which seems to be invading many lawns in my neighborhood. It took 2 weeks but it did the job. PS. If you use the dye with this product remember to wear gloves!!!
