XtremepowerUS 3/4HP Swimming Pool Pump (2400GPH) Pond Self Prime Above-Ground Pond Spa Pool Pump Strainer Basket 1.5" NPT Listed

I am very happy with this pump. I have purchased a smaller sand filter in the past, but they are all the way at the end of the pump curve. Increasing the HP to 3/4 has improved the filter throughput and the pump isn't working so hard it only lasts for two seasons. The fit and installation was exact.

After calling multiple pool suppliers and being told it would cost $400 to replace the pump on the sand filter I bought for my Intex pool I started checking Amazon. 3/4 hp pumps were around $250 for the same brand as the existing pump. I went ahead and rolled the dice on this fully expecting to receive something that was made to some metric standard that used a European electrical supply but to my amazement I got a pool pump configured almost identically to the existing one. However this one has a metal housing for the motor unlike the cheap Intex plastic pump has. It is a little more powerful than the old one and makes about the same amount of noise. In times like these where pools and pool equipment are outrageous I am happy to say that the pump was way less money than what I could find anywhere else and actually works. It uses 11/2 threaded inlet/outlets so I was able to use the hardware on the existing hoses to hook it up. The four bolt holes on the bottom flange even lined up with the bracket of the sand filter tank I have so I unbolted the old one and slapped the new one in right where it had been . When I saw the price compared to everything else I was VERY sceptical but it is indeed a pump like the picture shows.

We bought this pump to replace the original pumping system for our sand filter. We are not disappointed. It was super easy to take the old one off and attach the new one. Works like a charm. The flow is actually better with the replacement than the original pump. Going this route we saved hundreds of dollars. I would recommend buying this pump if you find yourself in a place like we did with the filter in great shape but the original pump was worn out.

It started out nice. Pump worked good and is super silent and smooth. But after 4 weeks normal use (7hrs/day) it started switching off after a few hours use. Now it will only stay on for 30 minutes before stopping. Have to power off and power on for it to run again.Junk! Buy something a bit more expensive and save yourself some disappointment and anger

This took a little modification, it works great the only thing I didn’t like it doesn’t have an off/on switch. It is currently hooked to my timer so works fine.

After a year this pump still works like a champ.

I was skeptical about it, but it has been running for a few months now. Quiet and good flow. Love the 2 speeds. Time will tell about durability.
