what are the blades made of?

These fans are not quality and the company does not have any warranty. I had 378.00 in two fans that would not put out any air and they would not even offer to replace them. They simply said that they had a problem with this fan but refused to do anything about it. My fans ended up in the trash after just three weeks of just looking good but not doing anything else The blades were plastic.

Is this fan setup with remote control receiver already installed?

This fan does not come with a remote which would have to be purchased separately. I believe Hunter makes a universal remote that may be paired with this Honeywell fan.

Is this a flush mount?

No, it mounts as shown. If you have advanced electrical knowledge you might can adapt it.
