Great stuff! Even better with sparkling lemon or lime water!
It took mixing a few drinks to get it right for me (testing wasn't exactly a chore...). Once I got the ratio right I have been very pleased. Not overly sweet, with a nice citrus hint to the bitterness. It doesn't take much and seems pretty concentrated. I like London dry gins so perhaps the sodium bicarbonate thats used in club soda made that mixer taste "off" to me when used with tonic syrup. I prefer adding sparking water. Lemon or lime flavored is even better. Arrowhead and Perrier brands that I use are just water, Co2 (for carbonation) and natural flavors. No calories, artificial stuff or high fructose corn syrup makes it about the healthiest G&T you can mix! LOL If you want to try it, start with 2-3 spoonfuls of El Guapo in an ice filled glass, 1.5 oz gin (or vodka if you must), then top up the glass with sparkling water and a lime wedge, stir well and enjoy. Cheers!

A bit expensive but takes your gin to a whole new level
I just started experimenting with syrups and I really like the flavor of El Guapo. It makes for a very original and refreshing gin. It's pricey, but a little goes a long way and it definitively beats most commercial tonic waters out there.

Makes a very different gin & tonic than Americans are used to.
This provides is a very different flavor than an American gin & tonic. It's sweeter and less bitter, and contains sugar syrup, spices, and 3 kinds of citrus. There's a trick to making gin & tonics with this, and I'm still working it out. Apparently, the old 19th century British colonels in India liked their gin & tonic more sweet than Americans (but then, they were probably using a LOT more quinine, as it was used to ward off and treat malaria). I've been adjusting the recipe on the bottle: The second time I used this, I put less than half an ounce of syrup in the drink (a dollop from the bottle, just enough to color the drink a bit), then use half seltzer water and half tonic water (to boost the quinine), as we like it with a little more bite - it came out very well. Play around with the recipe until you find the right balance for yourself. Buy good gin, don't stint on the amount in the drink. ADDENDUM: It's been some time since I bought this, and I've bought it again (the 16 oz bottle is a good value). My recipe has been adjusted to 3 dollops out of the bottle, seltzer water, and generous gin. It's now as we like it. It's a smoothe drink.

Very little quinine flavor
Bought to use with DIY seltzer. But it mainly tastes like citrus: almost lemonade level before the cinchona kicks in flavorwise. It's not a *bad* taste, but it's not the taste of tonic water.

Great with my soda stream
I use this with the carbonated water from my Soda Stream. The taste is different (to me better) than the tonic I typically would by in the store and as a fuller taste than the Soda Stream tonic syrup. This is not as sweet as your typical syrup (or comercial tonic water) but has a much more engaging taste. Great with Bombay Sapphire and a lime.

Tastes Nothing Like Tonic
I am a huge gin+tonic, and occasionally just vodka+tonic drinker. I normally use Fever Tree brand, but have been trying to find a tonic syrup brand worthwhile as we recently purchased a drinkmate carbonator and have been looking to save some money. This tonic syrup tastes more like some sort of chocolate+rootbeer syrup than it does tonic/cinchona bark, and the combination of flavors is actively disgusting to me even served without liquor within the range of ratios they recommend on the front of the bottle. The dark color I can overlook, but the taste is so far off of what anyone would expect when buying a tonic mixer than I cannot fathom who would use this instead of more readily available pre-made tonic sodas, even cheap ones. It almost tastes like someone mixed chocolate syrup with limes and ginger and decided that was a good product. An additional note, the bottle is flimsy. They dress it up with some gold wax stuff to make it look premium, but within a few days of having it, it fell off a low shelf in my fridge and the neck of the bottle cracked, spewing the stuff all over my wood floor. Anything else in my kitchen would have survived that fall, but this decided to add insult and make a gargantuan mess.

Interesting flavor and I'm fighting Malaria at the same time
I like this with soda, one large ice cube, and a twist of lime. Very refreshing. Plus, I am getting a touch of anti-malarial medicine in the process. This makes a nice tonic water, even without the gin. It is quinine after all. Who knows maybe I'm saving myself from COVID-19. Those little quinineeees get in there and confuse the virus.... not likely. In fact, probably impossible. Did not reorder because it is just too darn expensive. I do like it however. When i win the lottery I'll buy the company if they'll let me.

Great bitters mix with some versatility
This is really a great addition to the bar for those of us who really enjoy a quality gin and tonic. You can use it with club soda and make your own tonic water (and control the strength of the background tonic water in the drink). You can also mix it with some of your "regular" tonic water to boost the flavor (from the natural citrus flavors) and bite (from the additional quinine). It even makes a great non-alcoholic drink (club soda, some fresh, muddled lemon verbena from the garden and a dollop of El Guapo). It lasts a year in the fridge and is well worth the investment to add a bit more interest to your bar mixers.
