Energizer Recharge Value Charger for NiMH Rechargeable AA and AAA Batteries

4.67 stars. Seems to work fine for various brands of NiMh AAA & AA batteries. It's a dependable, simple, brand name charger. BEST FEATURES: ++ Plugs directly into an outlet or power strip. NO fussing with USB chargers or cables, or ports than can go bad. ++ Comes with 4 Energizer rechargeable AA batteries, so it's a good deal, price-wise. ++ Simple, large, bright indicator: red (charging), green (DONE!), or flashing red (problem with a battery). ++ Charges our Tenergy or Energizer brand NiMh batteries well, & also generic ones from outdoor solar lights. ++ Has an opening in the back, so it's easy to push out the batteries when they are fully charged. DOWNSIDES (small, but good to know): -- You cannot charge just ONE battery at a time. You must charge either 4 or 2. If charging 2, they MUST be in either the 2 left-most or 2 right-most slots. This was not obvious when we purchased, but we did find the "CHARGE 2 OR 4" statement afterward in the additional images. -- Included printed directions are welcome, but are fairly small print. The image of proper battery placement could have been larger and better designed. IMPORTANT: It's NOT for NiCd or other non-NiMh type batteries. If you need to charge more than one flavor of battery, look elsewhere. This one is for NiMh batteries only, in AA or AAA size only. WOULD WE BUY AGAIN? Yes.

Good item for the price. Batteries easy to remove

This NiMH battery charger is quite a little gem! It does exactly what it’s supposed to do with no muss, no fuss and no surprises. Operation is simple and straightforward, making it very easy to use. And it works for both AA and AAA size batteries. In fact, it will even charge both sizes at the same time! There is one caveat though: Batteries must be charged in pairs. A single battery won’t work. That means you can charge either two or four AA’s, two or four AAA’s, or all eight batteries at the same time. But you can’t charge just one. (Some kind of anomaly in the charging circuitry, I suppose). A minor inconvenience for some folks perhaps, but how many people are there who need to charge only one battery at a time? State-of-charge is indicated by a large translucent panel that occupies the upper-third of the front of the charger. When first placed on charge, dead batteries will cause the panel to glow red. After they’ve recharged, and are again ready for use, the panel turns green. For defective batteries that can’t be recharged, the panel displays blinking red. It’s all very simple and there’s no guesswork. There’s even a built-in timer that automatically turns the charger off after 11 hours – to prevent accidental overcharging -- for those who may have forgotten they left some batteries on charge. A thoughtful extra feature for travelers is the fold-away power plug. The two prongs that plug into the wall socket can be folded down, so they lie flat against the case, instead of simply poking out the back where they might snag some fragile garments that were traveling in the same suitcase. All in all, I’m very satisfied with this feature-laden, attractive-looking battery charger. Its features have been well thought out, it couldn’t be any easier to use and it’s an excellent value for the money. The fact that it comes with 4 NImH “AA” batteries makes the value even more compelling. So yes, I’d feel more than confident in recommending this product to a friend or family member.

Comes with 4 batteries, takes about 10 hours to charge, must charge 2 or 4 at a time, will not charge in odd amounts. Easy-to-use.

These batteries are extremely useful and convenient. I play a lot of VR games and was getting tired of having to change out the batteries once a week. Over time, that can become a weekly expense of getting new batteries. So when I found these rechargeable batteries, I knew I needed them. Energizer is a trustworthy brand and knew I can trust their quality. These double AA batteries are of excellent quality and can hold a charge for about 3 days of constant use. It comes with a wall charger that can charge all four batteries at once in a matter of hours. The wall charger does have a hard time staying in the wall socket since it is only one prong and with all the batteries in it, it can get heavy. I had to put the charger on a power strip so i can lay down instead of hang out the wall. Another critique to note is that once you charge the batteries enough times, it starts dying much quicker. Now it has been a couple of years since I purchased these and I am only now noticing a difference in battery life. This was to be expected but I appreciate how long they have lasted so far. Overall a good set of rechargeable batteries from a great brand at an awesome price!

Works exaxtly as intended. I bought for my wii controllers, after recharge, they would last from two, three sessions of gaming, which I would say are around 3 to 4 hours of continuous playing each. I'm satisfied with the purchase. I just have to charge them for 4 to 5 hours, so, no complaints.

Brought and just stays on red not worth the price at all

I love how it's able to charge AA and AAA batteries, it saves a lot of space over having two units. The batteries charge relatively fast and the bright led makes it easy to see when it can be unplugged. The batteries fit snug and have a nice audible click into position so you don't have to worry about one loose battery not getting charged. The plug conveniently folds into the back of the unit making it even easier to store. The lack of a ground plug make it slightly less stable in the wall so we have to always plug it in the top slot so it can rest the weight on the bottom plug to keep it flat. We have an ancient electrical system so that probably won't be an issue for the average user.
