If You Have a Good Pen, It Deserves This Great Paper!
I didn’t worry about paper quality until I decided to buy a fountain pen. This was after I saw Jeff Rubin's interview with Brad Dowdy in the July/August issue of "mental floss" magazine. Dowdy runs a podcast called "The Pen Addict". The article was mostly about pens (of all kinds), but he also recommends Rhodia paper, saying "If you can find quality paper, it's going to make crummy pens write better, and vice versa.” So I bought a fountain pen from a brand Dowdy recommended and bought this tablet of unlined Rhodia paper. Wow – was he ever right! This paper is beautiful. It is smooth and uniform, and lovely to write on. It looks a little shiny, but it is still accepts ink nicely. And the paper is thick enough that, even with a fountain pen, there is no bleed through. I've attached a customer image showing a sheet of this Rhodia paper with writing by a fountain pen on both sides. In addition, and this is no small thing, a sheet of paper tears out of this tablet neatly and beautifully. Whether it is a matter of the paper quality or how the sheet is perforated, or both, it is much easier than your average tablet to tear off a sheet of Rhodia paper without missing a corner. FYI, here’s the pen brand Dowdy recommended, TWSBI, a Taiwanese maker of high-quality, good-value fountain pens TWSBI Mini Clear Fountain Pen This is extraordinary paper. More expensive than the average, but if you’re buying a good pen, I think you’ll find it worth it. Happy Reader

Favorite writing tablet
This is by far my favorite writing/doodle tablet. I love writing on the paper. It's smooth, so my favorite pen glids effortlessly on the surface. The ink doesn't feather or bleed through to the other side. The binding allows me to keep the pages in order, but doesn't get in the way of hand movements. The dot grid is just light enough to see, so its not intrusive. This tablet makes writing enjoyable again.

My favorite pad to use for study!
Having used this pad for the last 3 years, It's easy to say that this is a great quality pad. I'm partial to Pilot v5 on the surface of this paper, but truthfully, any writing instrument feels wonderful on this paper. The dot grid is also an excellent feature of this pad. I have also had it in many bags and backpacks, all over the country, and in rough environments, and it has held up quite well. I highly recommend this pad to everyone.

My favorite tablet
This company makes the nicest paper. I love that it has a nice size that fits in my purse, so it's very functional. The paper is sturdy and does not bleed through when you use ink. It's very easy to use and I get a lot of value from it. They're hard to find in places like Staples or Office depot, so I'm very happy that Amazon does offer them. Of course I look to find other stationary stores but it's nice to know I always can find it here. Oh and I love that it fits in my hand conveniently. So it has a nice you know sort of grip to it that doesn't occupy a lot of space

Great paper, better to buy in person
The Rhodia notebooks are amazing. Premium price, but a premium product. Great paper (smooth and heavy), great construction, love the dot grid, have several of them in different sizes. I use these big ones for calligraphy practice and never have problems with ink bleeding through. That being said, I don't know if it is because these are imported or they cannot get a reliable supply, but half the Rhodias I get from Amazon are beat up when they arrive. The paper has never been damaged, but they don't come shrink wrapped, and they haven't been carefully handled. This most recent purchase had clearly been run over by some sort of vehicle because the back was all scratched up and there were faint treadmarks on the front. I've only ever had one that was run over, but it is not unusual to get dirty and scratched covers. But I keep buying them because I get these for the paper not the cover, and within a week or two I'd have the cover beat up on my own. So if you're okay with the distressed look, order away. If you absolutely want a pristine one (for example, to give as a gift), go buy it in person from a physical store where you can examine it first.

Awesome writing pad
I bought this Rhodia Black Dot Pad because I'm fairly new to writing with a fountain pen, and I wanted to experience the joy of using this writing pad after reading the previous reviews. I must confess, I'm not disappointed. My writing hasn't improved using this pad, in fact I think it has gotten worse, but that isn't any fault of the pad, I believe I simply need to get used to writing on dotted lined paper, maybe it's just my inexperience. However, that doesn't mean the paper is bad, quite the opposite! My pen glides across this paper like silk, the ink transfers beautifully, and you can see the shading in my ink perfectly. I first thought the paper feels a little thin, but having used it, there is absolutely no bleed through to the overside, and no feathering what so ever! The paper is a delight to use... I just need practice, Practice, Practice. As always with Amazon Prime, the Pad arrived extremely quickly, and very well packaged. Well worth the money!

Durable and well-made dot pad
I bought the Rhodia based on the advice of friends who raved about Rhodia's quality. So far, I've been thoroughly impressed. The dots are non-obtrusive and make themselves useful when I need them and blend into the background when I don't. The paper quality is superb. It tears cleanly and easily at the perforations and nowhere else. It's heavy enough so that it doesn't feel like writing on a bare surface but isn't so heavy as to feel pretentious or unwieldy. The Rhodia is also shockingly mold resistant. My water bottle has spilled several times in my backpack and even though the pages on the Rhodia have gotten wet each time, I have yet to see any mold or mildew forming. The A4 size feels a strange at first, but I found that it makes a great companion to the Rhodia No.16 A5 6 x 8 1/4 80 Sheet, Dot Pad, Black (16559) where I can choose between portability and space. Like a lot of notepads however, the bottom corner edges tend to get folded over from repeatedly stuffing it vertically in my backpack. Other than that this is a really great notepad.

Great for dyslexic leftie pen snob
I'm dyslexic and left handed. Notebooks bound on the side suck because my hand sits on the binding because of my leftie grip. Plain lined paper is sub-optimal both because I tilt my paper (leftie) and because my margins get messy (dyslexic). But I absolutely love the sensation of a good pen writing on smooth paper. This pad is fantastic. The paper is silky, a little on the glossy side. If you're using a pen with very wet ink you will want to write slowly and wait for it to dry or you will have smearing issues - some other reviewers noted that. But as a leftie I tend to use pens that dry fast anyway because my hand smears through what I've just written anyway. I find that with a porous point pen this paper is delightful to write on and my writing looks more organized and is easier to read.
