These knifes are great! Super sharp, it has a sharpening rod but honestly the edge stays extremely well! I recommend these for either the beginning cook or even a professional. The bread knive is excellent as well

I love these knives -- I really do. I got them for culinary school and they are good quality. They came sharpened, and do stay that way for some time after I use a stone on them. However, the handles are the drawback. The grip is not always the greatest, and lord help me if I am doing butchery. Meat and veg get stuck in the grooves. It isn't the end of the world, but it can be inconvenient to go and have to wash my knife right away for fear of discoloration or particles drying and sticking.

Great overall knives got mine and immediately started using it at work and so far its performing as advertised. Only a couple of minor annoyances I have are with the handles and how it seems to attract smudges and dirt from food i.e. used it to cut carrots and handle turned orange and needed to be washed immediately and quite aggressively to take off, and the way the blade was produced not being completely smooth with the micro grooves don't know if I'm using the proper term facing down towards the blade edge and not towards the blade tip makes it hard to wipe dry with a towel. However considering the price and the fact that its american made I still give it 5 stars and will recommend it for a "starter" professional kit for the kitchen.
