Great for first starters of sunscreen use every day
This used to be my favorite moisturizer and sunscreen in one until I attended esthetician school. I then learned you have to wear a separate face lotion and face sunscreen every day so your skin will not dry out. I still use Cetaphil sunscreen, but just the sunscreen not the face lotion combination.

Moisturizer with 50 SPF recommended by my dermatologist
I had been using a moisturizer and a SPF sunscreen for years until my dermatologist told me that I could use Cetaphil Daily facial Moisturizer with 50 SPF sunscreen. I apply it on my face and neck every morning before I apply foundation makeup. I'm 76 and I have oily sensitive skin. Cetaphil Daily facial Moisturizer is oil free, fragrance free, hypoallergenic and won't clog pores which is why it was recommended to me.

You take the good with the bad
First things first, this is NOT dark skin tone friendly. This will leave a white cast on your face. Now, if your skin is white as alabaster like mine is, you should be fine. I would caution getting this near the eyes as oxybenzone will burn them right out of your skull. However, this product is formulated with titanium dioxide, which provides a bit of gripping for the product to hold onto, which can prevent this from running into your eyes. Some SPF’s are formulated with dimethicone (silicone), which can move on the skin. I’m assuming they added the titanium dioxide to prevent this from happening. Does this burn? Yes. However, that’s not what stopped me from purchasing this. I have a very specific problem with most American UV filters burning the skin around my eyes; this product does not do that. You have to take the good with the bad in this case, and for the main reason of this containing oxybenzone and octinoxate, I gave this review 4 stars. Maybe when American brands stop living in the fifties with these UV filters, I’ll change my review. Until then, it is what it is. This formula is more hydrating and moisturizing than some others on the market (and I’ve tried over 20). My skin felt hydrated throughout the entire day. I did wake up with a few breakouts, but my skin typically adjusts to new products, so it’s up in the air whether this product caused the acne. I’ll keep you posted. As far as the smell goes, it is “fragrance free,” but it does smell like product. The smell is minimal and dissipates after 10 minutes. If you’re going to apply this over your eyes, I’d suggest keeping them closed until the product dries down. Like I mentioned before, this will sting and burn if you accidentally get it in your eyes. The formula has a milky texture that sits lightly on the skin without feeling heavy. I could barely tell it was there. While wearing this, I went for a run. I was drenched in sweat after, and not once did this product travel or get in my eyes. Honestly, I was a bit shocked but pleasantly surprised. I’d give this product an 8/10 due to the fact it’s not inclusive to other skin tones. Update: 3/23/25 I had some minor breakouts when first using this SPF. However, my skin usually takes a few days to adjust to ANY new product. This product did not break me out after the adjustment period.
