Is this ribbon more tough like fabric or strapping, or is it thin like gauze? I need to applique it onto something and it needs to be fairly sturdy.

I purchased this item last year for school dance decor to mount to walls and props. It is more like the thick elastic banding you would get at a fabric store. It worked great; in my opinion it is sturdy enough- not like gauze at all. I hope this helps!
