Make sure you order for your specific trim of RAV-4 (Limited, LE, LXE, etc.)
This product is fantastic. We were stalled out on installing it for a while (roughly 6 months) due to having the incorrect wire harness, but we were able to get in touch with a wonderful fellow who sent us the correct wire harness for our RAV-4’s specific trim level. The screen is very responsive, bright, and easy to use. The wires for microphone and GPS are also easy to route behind the glove compartment. The audio is by far the staple of this system though. I own a 2013 RAV-4 Limited and the JBL system is complimented so well with this head unit. Apple CarPlay works like a charm. The only tricky part about this install was the vent clips and getting the fascia to sit behind the head unit and snap into place perfectly. We eventually got it though and the entire unit looks fantastic. Edit: We have had this unit in our RAV-4 for roughly a year and a half. It still works great. A few things worth noting: the screen cannot be dimmed or turned off--it can only switch between "daytime" and "nighttime" modes (which is often toggled via your car's daylight sensor or turning the headlight stalk to "on"). Another small gripe with this unit is the quality of the microphone that is sent with the car--it is not good. It picks up a TON of road noise and sometimes whoever is talking is unintelligible and they will have to switch to speaker mode on the phone so they can be understood. There have also been random times when the microphone will sound like it's underwater, but that can also be chalked up to cell reception and call quality via the service provider. All-in-all, my wife and I are very pleased with this unit and have greatly enjoyed our purchase. Always do your research, and if you made it this far in this review, you're doing pretty well.

Bluetooth/Wireless Connection Flakey
I've had the product installed now for almost 6 months, but that was actually two different devices. The first one mysteriously stopped working after 4 weeks. Spent a good two weeks exchanging emails with support who actually instructed me to disassemble and re-seat the video connectors. In the end they exchanged the device for a new one which has mostly been working. I say mostly because the Bluetooth/Wireless Android connection is extremely flakey. I have a Samsung Note 20 and sometimes I get into the car, everything auto-connects and it works flawlessly. Other times it will never connect. Sometimes switching the phone BT off/on, or forcing the connection will do the trick. Sometimes it connects to the phone, but the Z-Link application just hangs. I’ve unpaired/paired my phone multiple times and still get the flakey behavior. I have a Sena on my motorcycle helmet and have been spoiled by a <2 second 100% BT connection rate as soon as I power it on. On the flip side, my wife’s iPhone seems to connect regularly, most irritating when we’re both in the car and I want my phone on the device. There is no easy way to tell it to switch without disabling BT & Wifi on the iPhone. Then we’re back to square one and usually requires a reboot of the device (powering on and off the ignition). A couple feature requests: 1. Provide a way to completely turn off Bluetooth. This is standard in Android, so I don’t understand why they have decided to hide that feature. This would also make it easier to connect to my home Wifi without one of our phones taking over the unit. 2. Provide a way to reboot from the UI while the car is running. Also don’t understand why that’s not there either. I know from experience the car runs fine with the device completely dead or removed. 3. Make the home screen a little more customizable. Allow disabling/replacement of the default music player. On the upside, installation was pretty straightforward (definitely watch a Youtube video for tips) and when it works I’m perfectly happy with it. Still frustrated with some Android Auto limitations, but that’s all on Google and has nothing to do with this device. There is some minor background noise in the speakers from the device, but you don’t notice them when music is playing. An audiophile might be offended by it. I was able to buy a 128G thumb drive, copy all my music to it and use Media Monkey to play it on the device, even when my phone won’t connect so that’s a nice feature. Backup and 360 camera look great on the larger screen, and work regardless of the phone status. Ideally I’d give it 3.5 stars if Amazon allowed that. Overall, it’s still better than the factory original.

Decent replacement for the price. Nice size screen.
First of all, the screen has a great picture and welcomed replacement to the factory. The bad: the screen is NOT antiglare at all. Unless it's completely dark outside all I can see are my passenger and out the passenger window. This makes it more or less useless during the day. There are zero instructions on how to install sent with the unit, however, there are good YouTube videos. The radio is only held in by the trim which means it's not very secure and does rattle slightly. The external mic that came with the unit is very cheap and doesn't really work well at all. People on the other end of the call can barely understand me. The good: Carplay seems to work well with my iphone thus far so, no complaints there. It offers a lot more functionality for the build in sound system. Large screen with great picture though, during the day you really can't see anything on the screen. Update: Reached out to them after a month because the unit started acting up. Maps wouldn't load. Kept dropping cell phone connection. They gave me a firmware update. Updated bricked my unit. I have a $500 paperweight now.

It’s fine, I guess
Screen definitely bigger than the preexisting one, and I put it in myself easily enough. That said, the Bluetooth/carplay cuts out *often,* and seeing as that was the biggest reason I bought it, if I ever had to replace it I would find a better model. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Really awesome head unit for 2018 RAV4 LE! Large screen, Apple CarPlay, and extremely quick and easy to install! Just need a socket wrench for the 4 hex screws, everything else are just clipped on. Lots of YouTube videos where people show how it’s installed. I had some issues (my fault) with the radio not tuning into any radio stations and also I wanted the factory password, so I emailed SYGAV from their website and they replied so quickly! They were very helpful and supportive.

The unit works fine, but you can get essentially the same unit from ebay for hundreds of dollars less.

Seller was amazing to deal with. Seller reached out to me to confirm some details about my car before shipping. Head unit was easy to install thanks to online videos. So far I have used it through a Canadian winter and have not had any issues with the cold.
