6 string guitalele, solid mahogany
I needed a really small guitar to use while in my recliner... health issues keep me there more than I like... Found this beautiful little 'baby guitar' and started reading, listening and doing research in general on the guitalele. I am very pleased with this sweet little Caramel! (Pun intended!) This is all solid mahogany... no laminate construction. The entire body vibrates when I strum! Walnut bridge and frette board, open black tuning pegs, with brass gears. There are two well placed strap pins, also. Soft satin type finish - you can actually see and feel the pores in the mahogany. No high gloss... No trim around/on the edges, so you can see the thickness (thinness) of the top attached to the side. The bottom meets the side with a beveled seam - very neat in appearance... No glue drips, or rough edges, just a nice neat little guitalele, well made... and beautiful! It has tuning pegs and bridge pins like a steel string acoustic guitar, but it's made for nylon strings. And has beautiful, full, rich sound with great resonance, sustain and big volume! A bigger voice than you'd expect from something this small! I adjusted the truss rod, when I first got it and was setting it up. It's a real truss rod and did alter the neck, slightly. When I tried to use the tuner, for the first time, it wouldn't work. I couldn't get the battety compartment open, either! Had to very carefully use a tiny little pair of pliers to get it open. Checked the batteries... they were fine. Finally found the little bitty on / off button kind of hidden among the other buttons/knobs. Worked just fine once I got it turned on! Lol! I've had my 'baby guitar' for a full week, this evening - 8/16/21. I've played her so much and the more I play, the more I love her. I changed strings, the end of last week. Used D'Addario ball end, nylon folk regular guitar strings. Now that the strings have settled in, she stays in tune pretty well, so I don't need to do more than a few minor adjustments when I start playing. Just messing around, using my chromatic tuner, I tuned to 432 instead of 440. I like it! Is slightly lower in tone and sounds a bit closer to my guitar. Where I strum does make a difference in tone. Using more the softer side of my thumb, right about where the neck and the sound hole meet is where I discovered the most mellow tone. This is just a great little guitalele (aka baby guitar). I'm so very glad I bought it!

Great as a x-small classical guitar
The package came complete with all items and was well protected. The size is between a guitelele and a 1/4 classical guitar. It is well made, no excess glue, no sharp frets, no buzz, no damage. Both the tuner and pickup work well and the instrument is loud enough that no amp is needed unless you're playing in a band or with some full-sized guitars that like to show how big they are. It took me less than 3 minutes to tune it and it kept the tuning for at least 20 mins which is rather good for new strings. I am using this to transition from concert uke to steel string as my fingers are getting ripped up by the steel, so the nylon feels rather soothing. I have small hands and fingers so this size is perfect enough to finally learn to play the full F-chord and actually reach it. The only detractor is that it did not come with strap-pegs installed, so I will need to take it down to the guitar store to get them installed because I really like using a guitar strap to keep things steady. I was very impressed with the sound which is fairly close to my larger classical guitar and all the songs I learned on my concert uke play fine on it. I think that others going from a uke to a guitar, or someone coming from a guitar wanting to play a uke that have very small to small/medium fingers/hands would find this a great transition instrument. I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who wants to play guitar/uke at an affordable price.

Like a small classical guitar
This instrument is a great size. It's larger than my tenor ukelele but it's still small enough to make it a very portable, easily-accessible guitar. I love that this model is tuned like most guitars: EADGBE; I'll be able to use my guitar books and not have to get separate Guitalele manuals and songbooks. Played acoustically, it's not terribly loud so I'm glad that it's electric should I want to play it with other musicians. (I haven't 'plugged it in' yet.) It's got a great built-in tuner; the best I've seen so far, in fact. And, it stays in tune rather well given that it's still new-to-me and the strings are still stretching out. // Other reviewers have commented on the finish; it's matte, not shiny. When I take my next lesson, I'll ask the folks at Guitar Center whether they think I need to treat it with a product but I kind of like the 'au naturale' appearance. Gives it kind of a rustic look. My biggest criticism is that the guitar strap pegs weren't drilled in at the factory. Now, I have to have a technician do it or take my chances by doing it myself. (The 'pegs', screws, and strap are included in this 'package' so I don't see why they couldn't have installed it themselves.) I definitely recommend using a strap so that one's left elbow can relax downward and one can get better positioning for one's thumb. // I'd say it's a great value, just for the guitalele, itself. But given that it includes a capo, a wall-mounted hanger, the strap, picks, and a decent soft-shell case... it's a an excellent value. The case has a small, round, zippered storage pocket. I would, however, prefer that they'd make it square and larger to be more useful for storage, especially since they give you such neat schtuff. // For the price, you can't go wrong. If the pouch was larger and the strap pegs had been pre-installed, I definitely would have given this baby 5 stars.

This instrument is absolutely perfect. I can't believe I bought an absolutely beautiful little guitar at this price point. The tone is excellent, there is no buzzing or errant noise. I am so glad I bought this. I picture many years of enjoyment with this gujtar.

This guitarele was better then I had expected! The sound is beautiful and the finish is excellent. The leaflet shows the truss rod in the sound hole but thanks to some lovely peeps here who answered my question it is actually behind a little plate on the head stock. Comes with everything you need to literally inbox and play. I would definitely recommend Update, the timers started to unscrew in the back and fall out so had to return it, I was gutted as the sound was gorgeous.

Had this for a couple years, I probably pick this up more often than my actual guitars! First the good! Very small and versatile, has a built-in tuner and everything as well. The accessories that came with are pretty nice, they’re the kind of things that are annoying to have to buy separately. I personally didn’t need most of them, but for a beginner they’re really convenient to have. I personally tune it 3 semi-tones up, as I find the strings way too floppy at guitar standard. The truss rod helps correct the added tension. All in all just really enjoyable to play. Now the bad. Following is based on the specific unit I received, might’ve been a defective one, but… Gonna be completely honest, the build quality is bad. The intonation is off. When open strings are in tune certain fretted notes are obviously slightly out. The material used is ikea quality, extremely easily dented. Imagine a $50 ukulele, that’s the quality you can expect. The mark at 10th fret makes no sense to me whatsoever, not like it’s a guitalele tuned 5 semi-tones up. If the materials used were higher quality I would consider throwing steel strings on. At the end of the day, it feels like a toy; but I honestly don’t mind. Conclusion: Despite the cons, I 100% would recommend anyone pick this thing up, my personal experiences were very positive overall!

Bought this guitarele for strumming in my work truck, was surprised at how good it sounded and how sturdy it feels. You got a customer for life and I can't wait to order my uke next.

First of all the bundle you get with this little guitar is fantastic; 2 sets of string, capo, good bag, hanging hook, strap, plectrums and cable. Secondly, the built in electronics is great - the controls and connection to an amp works very well and the built in tuner is just brilliant. This guitalele has a pretty good sound for its size. You may want to upgrade the strings it comes with. I did that and found volume and quality were greatly improved. It has a very nice action. I certainly won't be adjusting the neck tension. I was worried that the neck might be too small as I have quite large hands but that isn't the case at all. It's very easy to use. So far I just love this little instrument. It's great fun to pick up something so small and knock out such great sounds. So far I don't have any reservations about the Caramel at all and would be happy to recommend it to anyone.
