Got these to keep grit and sand from getting into my running shoes. They work like a dream. I run on dry mountain trails and was forever getting annoying bits of rock and stuff in my shoes. Absolutely fixed this problem. They don't sag down, and remained in place perfectly. I can even feel the change in the added insulation around my foot, which feels good. Another small thing is that they are snug enough to give a bit more of a feel to my ankle and foot which seems to be reassuring in terms of running on uneven terrain. My shoe is a Salomon Speedcross 4 size 12.5. I got the large gaiter, and the fit overall very well. I am not sure about the hard rubber strap that goes under the shoe yet. I am concerned it will be the first thing to wear out, but the first 6 miles shows no wear yet.

I purchased these for a Tough Mudder event and for the most part, they worked out well. Based on the sizing I ordered a large but I think I would have been happier with a medium. I wear an ankle brace on my right foot which goes halfway up my ankle and ends a few inches above the top of the gaiter. As a result, my right ankle is a bit larger than my left, after taking into account the extra material from the brace. What's funny is the gaiter on the right ankle (with the brace) fit perfectly and kept everything out. Right gaiter on the left ankle however was too loose and left a small gap for rocks/dirt to enter the show. I wasn't able to tighten the gaiter any further so bottom line, I'd reccomend going sizing down.

I live in the SW where the goatsheads are plentiful. These have been wonderful. Easy on and easy off. The thick rubber that wraps around the bottom seems thick and durable. I’ll update after the winter and see how they are holding up.

If you're gonna be walking, running, or crawling through mud this is the perfect product. Bought this for the Tough Mudder and it kept out all the mud and rocks. I bought a size down from what's listed (medium), and I put them on backwards according to the pictures included. If you need to keep stuff out of your shoes these are perfect. Will not keep water out, but if you're doing a Tough Mudder or an OCR, that's to be expected.

Top line: Not made for trail runners; probably fine for boots. Solid performance if you find the right size. Good: These gaiters do a fine job of keeping the big rocks out, even if sizing it a little off. Durability through 75+ miles of hiking and trail running seems okay. Bad: Fit loosely--be sure to size down from the recommendation unless you are wearing extremely bulky boots. Even then, the bottom is a little loose, which probably isn't an issue for boots. When moving at speed (running), the strap may get caught on larger rocks causing the gaiter to shift or pull. Other: These gaiters work much better with high-arched boots than flat-soled running shoes due to the strap that goes underneath the sole. If you're using a low drop running shoe, you be better served with velcro/clip style.

works well as desribed

I just wore these for a four day backpacking trip which lasted about 50 miles. They held up fine and no dirt or rocks in my trail runners despite being on loose dirt and even sand. I like to hike with my trailrunners tied loose and these definitely helped keep debris out and I didn’t experience blisters on the ankles even though I wore low socks. I was worried the band under the shoe would wear out but it hasn’t done so yet. In addition the Velcro didn’t lose its property of adherence. I wear size 9.5 women’s and I got a medium. Small didn’t fit my shoe. I’ll probably get an extra bc I’ve been putting lots of miles in w these even before the backpacking trip and i don’t want to be stuck without them.

Buen producto a buen precio. Estoy muy contento. Funciona bien, si ocupará un poco más de pierna sería perfecto.

Die Gamaschen habe ich mir für eine 20-Tägige Wanderung gekauft obwohl ich mir nicht sicher war ob das überhaupt Sinn macht. Gleich am ersten Tag, als es den Berg runter auf einem Schotterweg ging, musste ich innerhalb 30min zweimal anhalten um die kleinen Steinchen aus den Wanderschuhe rauszufischen. Bis mir eingefallen ist, dass ich die Gamaschen gekauft habe. Einmal drauf, habe ich sie die nächsten 19 Tage nicht wieder runtergenommen. Am Anfang etwas engsitzend und gewöhnungsbedürftig aber sehr bald kaum noch zu merken. Außer einer spricht sie darauf ein :) Mir ist das tatsächlich sehr oft passiert. Einmal zu Hause, habe ich die Gamaschen mit meinem restlichen Sportsachen in der Waschmaschine bei 30° gewaschen und die sind wieder wie neu. + Leicht und Kompakt (nehmen nicht viel platz ein) + Gutes wenn auch gewöhnungsbedürftige Tragegefühl + Strapazierfähig (Kiesel, Schotter, Matsch, Regen, Sand) + Guter Schutz vor Steinchen und Schmutz + Starker Kletterverschluss (nach einpaar Tage verbiegt sich der obere Teil etwas, 'klebt' aber immer noch sehr gut) Kurzgefasst, zweitbeste Kaufentscheidung für diese Wanderreise. Die erste war T-Shirts aus 100% Merinowolle :)

Indispensable pour les trails en conditions compliquées (temps humides, herbes hautes, etc.) mais aussi pour les descentes en pierriers, puisque ces mini-guêtres évitent que des cailloux ne rentrent dans la chaussures. Le scratch est toute fois un peu large, mais cela assure leur bon maintien. Je recommande.

Kept the rocks out. Allowed me to rock my high speed low cut trail hikers without getting crud inside the shoes. Take the time to make sure you get the right size. I can see how things could go wrong if not sized properly.
