Painful latch no more
I wish I had bought this sooner! I have a cut on one of my nipples that has made breastfeeding incredibly painful. I tried another brand of nipple shield provided by my lactation consultant, but it was uncomfortable and I had to hold it in place. I’ve also used lots of creams/balms that just weren’t helping much. I was feeding baby late at night and impulse bought this product, thinking it might work better. To my surprise, it works WAY better. My exclusively breastfed 3w old took to it easily, and our feeding experience is much more comfortable for both of us. I was nearly ready to throw in the towel on our breastfeeding journey. I’m so relieved to have found this product! I love that it stays attached and his mouth doesn’t have to touch my sore, sensitive skin. Awesome!

Very large!
Consider your flange size before buying this is probably a 24 mm. It’s good quality but it’s huge.

Saving our breastfeeding journey, wish I found this sooner!
This nipple shield just saved my breastfeeding journey and I’m so happy. My LO is two months old and hasn’t breastfed pretty much since he was born. He needed formula in hospital because of low blood sugar and he developed bottle preference pretty quickly. The Medela nipple shields I couldn’t really find the right fit, the leak milk out of them and whenever he would move they would fall off. It was so frustrating to have to re-attach them and honestly he just didn’t like them either. This one mimics a bottle nipple, it’s thicker silicon which I feel protects me from his gnawing as he falls asleep, it doesn’t leak any milk out of it so it’s easy to express a little into the nipple before starting to give your LO some incentive. It’s suction doesn’t allow it to just flop off the nipple either so my son has been able to move his head all he wants, and even hit it with his hand on accident without it going anywhere. I only gave a 4 for comfort because the first time I used it, it took a little getting used to getting it centered over the nipple while suctioning it on so when he first starting suckling it felt a little pinchy. Once I adjusted and got it centered, it’s been so easy. I’m so hopeful this will allow us to transition completely out of bottle feeding if I wanted to. I’ll still bottle feed here and there so hubby or others can feed him when I’m not around or unable to. It’s just nice that after months of both of us crying during every feeding because BF wasn’t working, that now we can both associate something positive with trying to breastfeed and relax instead.

Decent, but with modification.
These are 24mm, not 20mm like the description says. I use flanges from my pump to feed my baby with this and it works decently. However I do wish they made different sizes not just a one size fits all because most women do not have 24mm nipples. If you use this without your size flange your nipple will be sucked into the nipple of the shield and that’s what causes nipple collapse. It creates a vacuum suction and it doesn’t feel good. It’s good quality and honestly pretty comfortable. Other than not being able to select your size it’s decent. I could cut the flange to fit flush with the shield but I have not ordered extra flanges and don’t want to cut the only flanges that fit.

Like Dr. Brown Bottle nipple.
This was perfect, my LO never latched properly, and is 6 months old now, I've always just pumped as back up and bottle fed him formula, I didn't want to give up breastfeeding yet but I have tried everything I could think of and desperately I looked for a softer bottle shaped nipple shield as the Haakaa one was too hard and he didn't like it. He'd get frustrated pop off and not want to feed. I tried this and honestly it felt like his Dr. Brown bottle nipple, I tried it and he latched and seemed to not notice a different besides the milk flow but he just used me as a pacifier and fell asleep suckling. I'm gonna try again when I am fuller as I'd already pumped for the day but so far so good.

Nice but..
Is nice and feels like a bottle nipple but it folds inside when the baby is sucking and it makes the baby swallow lots of air so I decided not to use.

Works but feels weird
I was very skeptical when buying this. I just had my second child and was never able to nurse my first one so I knew there would be issues this time around. After having dealt with many lactation consultants and different shields this one allows my lo to latch and get what she needs. Its a very different feel I must say it is very thick and kind of weird to deal with. Once you get use to it it's very nice to have. My only issue is it doesn't always want to stick.

Works great but with a modification
I was hesitant when ordering this nipple shield after reading a lot of reviews. My main reason for ordering this was sore and sensitive nipples which was preventing me to nurse. My baby has no problems latching and was previously being fed with pumped breast milk through the bottle. I had previously tried traditional nipple Shields (such as Medela) which did not provide adequate protection to the nipple and resulted in discomfort. I tried this nipple shield and noticed that it was working well but parts of the areola were being sucked into this nipple due to large opening. So I used a flange insert from my Elvie breast pump. The nipple shield has a 20 mm opening and I was able to insert my 17 mm flange insert which fits snugly. I've had to make a tight seal with my fingers while nursing as this provides good suction while my baby feeds and the nipple itself has a good flow (not slow). I've been using this nipple shield for a few weeks now and it has been a game changer for me as I was previously exclusively relying on my breast pump to feed my baby. I'm glad this is working out and my baby doesn't seem to have any problems.

I didnt like how it felt when the baby would suck. I found that the plastic used on the nipple part is too hard. It should've been more like the base. If you have larger nipples it just rubs on the plastic inside. You can feel the baby pulling on the tip of your nipple. Very uncomfortable. I'd rather look up youtube videos and practice getting s good latch. My advice is to pump your milk until your baby is old enough to feed properly on the breast.

These are helpful.

Do not use this product, the milk gets stuck in the weird shape and it's basically like bottle feeding your baby. You also feel nothing so there's no connection. The Medela brand sheilds are exceptional and we used those after trying this product.
