How to Stay in Love

Love this book! A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE SINGLE OR IN A RELATIONSHIP! What he says is what we all want to say but are afraid to! Very helpful book!

A fun book to really take in. I love the honesty and how brutal it really is.. makes you think its REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE. I took a lot from the book, it showed me that I do some things right and a lot of things wrong. No one person is perfect but you can always work towards more (grow). I really wish I could apply every aspect of this book to my relationship but it would be crazy to remember every detail lol. You know what they say if you could take one thing away from what you’ve read then it was worth it. AND I ABSOLUTELY DID. (I even bought it for my lover so we could work on a lot of the little things together). I recommend the read 100%. Easy to read, easy to understand.

It’s a very easy to read book and actually super entertaining and funny. I liked it and genuinely enjoyed reading it. It’s a book that you read mostly for entertainment though I would say

It's very interesting to look at relationship from a divorce's lawyer's perspective. Even though the examples in the book derived from to-be-divored/ divorced couples, I still find the views applicable and useful for those who're dating and wanting a long-lasting and happy relationship. p.s. a special note to the curse words. They appear noticeably more in this book but I find it totally ok (I seldom curse). The author alos has a pretty good sense of humor.

Read this before you get married. Or while you are married. It sucks to read it after it ended. Great book, Mr. Sexton.

I wish I read this before marriage and during my divorce, but it is not too late to read it post-divorce and possibly pre-marriage for the future with my new found soulmate. I’m so much happier now, divorced from my ex husband whom I met at 20 and divorced at 40. I thanked him for setting us both free and I’m so blessed to have met an amazing man who provides me emotional support and physical touch with genuine love, respect, affection, and words of affirmation. I read this book to learn how I can keep my current relationship alive and healthy. So far, so good. Sometimes, reading or watching videos provides validation that I’m on the right track. This is one of those books and more. Entertaining and James Sexton is so smart and witty. I enjoy watching his interviews on YouTube too. That’s how I found out about his book.

Good but not great. I know what I was signing up for, that it was mostly about his wisdom rather than about actual cases, but wished he included more divorce cases he was involved in. The author has more than two decades experience as a divorce lawyer. I am sure he has tons of juicy tales to tell. This way it will be more interesting... Because let's be real, every dating/relationship books out there restate pretty similar wisdom nuggets. You cannot impart anything new, sorry... BUT, Mr. James, pls write a book where you talk solely about concrete cases. Call the book, let's say, My 30 Crazy Divorce Cases... It will sell in huge volume. I will buy it, promise😊 Hope you don't mind my honest feedback🙏 As for potential buyers of this book, it's still worth reading.

I'm buying copies of this for my two adult kids. One is in a relationship, and one is not, but regardless, this is valuable and priceless life coaching. I found this book after seeing Mr. Sexton on two podcasts (Diary of a CEO). Highly recommended.

I love this book! Obviously the content already caught my attention, which is the reason i bought it in the first place, BUT... In my opinion, which makes this book be great instead of good, is the author's way of writing! It doesn't feel like reading one of the many life-coach books, but when you read it, you feel more like reading a letter from a (very talkative) friend - it's more like listening to somebody than actually reading! Although, you should be open to unapologetic truths about the human character, as well as to sarkasm and irony, because those are pillars of this work. I totally recommend this "how not to"-guide, as the author calls it right at the beginning!

I've read a lot of relationship books, mostly those written by psychologists. These books usually talk about the psychological insights on different dating/relationship/marriage aspects, advise effective approaches on "what to do", and highlight good behaviours. But didn't really delve deeper on the negative behaviours and the repercussions in the past. Meanwhile, this book is written from totally different perspective, ie of a divorce lawyer, peppered with stories from a myriad of angles, including but not limited to sex, finance, free time, etc. It gives good practical advices on "what-not-do" and in a way looks for troublesome behaviours that your future/current partners and you might have. I have read about 1/3 of the book. So far so good. I need to put down the book so many times and take a deep breath. Mainly because the book reminded me of stupid behaviours of an ex-partner and sometimes, mine too. Pretty thought-provoking. Will definitely follow the book's advices for my next relationship. Regardless whether you are single or taken, I strongly suggest you to just buy this book. It's totally worth every penny and the long delivery time needed. Might save you financially and emotionally big time by avoiding a divorce.

It's a fast and enjoyable read, full of usefull information and some unnecessary but fun jokes.

A book has a lot of good ideas, some of which I slightly disagree with, but a great read overall.
