Best daily work blade
Morakniv craftline and companion blades are far and above the best quality tough blades you can buy for under $50 anywhere on earth. I have beat mine up severely for decades and not one has ever broken. They sharpen back up and keep working. It's honestly amazing. I wish I could buy a pallet of these to store away for the next 5 generations of my family to use.

Great little knife
I've bought several of the Morakniv Companions with the 4.1" blade, but I like this shorter one a bit more. It fits in my cargo pants front hip pockets easier (less visible), and I don't need the extra blade length for anything. The sweet spot for cutting most things is about 1"-1.5" along the blade, just ahead of the handle, and these knives give me that. The reason I keep buying them is because I give them as gifts or sometimes I lose them. It happens, but the price is so reasonable that I never worry about it. I love these little knives and carry one with me pretty much everywhere I go. I live in the country, but they are handy no matter where I am.

Fantastic budget pack knife!
Truly, I can't think of a better knife for a budget pack knife. I own a lot of knives, and this particular model blows a lot of my higher end ones out of the water with edge retention, utility, and durability. I've backpacked nearly 500 miles with this dangling off my pack (not recommended unless you modify the sheath to retain the knife harder like I did), and this is almost always the first knife I reach for when I need to use one. Let's talk about the pros and cons of this amazing knife. Pros: 1.) Edge retention and sharpening- because it's a carbon blade, it's going to retain its edge more than other knives in this price range. Not only that, it's a scandi grind, and is therefore easier to sharpen than most other microbevel blades. 2.) Ergonomics- While I have massive hands and sometimes feel a little cramped on the handle, it's ergonomically sound for people with normal human sized hands. 3.) Grip- I've used this knife multiple times in the rain, mud, and snow, and have never lost my grip. The polymer and rubberised coating they've used on this knife provide excellent grip in most conditions. I did jokingly use this while freshwater diving (Highly NOT recommended), and I did notice some slippage while I was underwater. 4.) Durability- I've dropped this thing, smacked it on rocks (NOT recommended) and have all around abused this poor knife, and it's still almost like new with a few blemishes here and there. The carbon steel holds up amazingly well, especially when you've established a patina. Cons: 1.) Slightly too small for massive sasquatch hands, with the heel of the handle digging in if I'm using it to process kindling. 2.) The sheath is almost garbage. It's cheap (What do you expect for this price?) and doesn't hold the blade very well. I used a heat gun to modify mine a little, and it works exceptionally well now. 3.) If you don't know how to care for a carbon blade (like some of the people leaving lower star reviews), it will rust, and you may end up damaging your blade due to neglect. 4.) Not as much of a con as it's more of my preference, but it's a rat tail tang instead of a full, which could lend itself to some breakage down the road, but I have yet to run into that. Overall, this is a fantastic pack knife for new and experienced backpackers, hikers, and outdoors enthusiasts. I will continue to use Morakniv for their superior quality for price, and outstanding utilitarian designs, and can not recommend this knife enough.

Excellent Affordable!!!
The Morakniv is an excellent knife, quality made, and will last a long time. The design is such the handle grips perfectly and the blade feels like an extension of the hand. As a tradesman I have seen these around for years and never paid them much attention because they don't look as cool as other knives. Then I got one and it has become my main knife that I always reach for. Years later my first Mora is going strong but I have picked up a few more. These are meant as working knives to get work done, not sit in a display case. The beauty of these knives is in their functionality and practicality. To help you understand the difference between the similar models, the Pro C is the middle of the road of the Morakniv line and in my opinion the best compromise of strength and agility. The Craft Line Basic has a smaller blade that is the same thickness as the Pro C. The Craft Line Robust is the same shape but the blade is thicker than the Pro C. The craft Pro S is identical knife except the blade is made of stainless steel instead of carbon steel.

Mora and its amazing dirt cheap knives
Mora has done it again. I love mora knives. I never really was a fan of this straight-back point, however, this and the companion have changed my mind. For this price, why wouldn't you at least give it a shot? I recommend this to bushcrafters who want a knife solely for slicing either food, or carving wood since the scandi grind is a perfect compliment. Just remember to keep it oiled if it is carbon steel. However, if you have very large hands (like massive) don't buy this knife, since the handle wouldn't be very comfortable. This is where the knife looses a star. The handle just doesn't do it for me. The sheath isn't the greatest, in my humble opinion. I didn't really buy the knife for the sheath though. For the price, the sheath is fine, and Mora designed it slightly better than the companions. Lastly, I looove the little short, yet wide blade.

Fantastic little knife with a range of uses. Whittling, cutting, chopping. It just works. Sharp blade out of the box and a comfortable handle. The beauty of these knives is that you get the great Mora craftsmanship for a really cheap price. The sheath is well designed and the knife locks into place. This purchase shouldn't be a difficult decision, other than choosing between other Mora knives at the similar price end.

Anders A
