T-02571 Customizable Foam Insert for Interlocking Cases

This foam is amazing. I used a dull butterknife to help cut the desired sections out for the main shape. It separated easily, but is still durable for the tools. If you're using it for the Medium or larger boxes, you will need more than 1. IE: Makita 197211-7 Medium box requires 2x foam inserts per case. You get the 1/2" base pad, and the main 'sectioned' foam insert. Definitely PLAN AND MEASURE YOUR CUTS before you start separating the sections. I wish these were only $5-10 each, but they are decent buy at around $20/ea.

Worked like a charm for my makita multi tool. A bit pricy but you can't find anything like it. Brilliant

unlike some of the kaizen inserts for packout or other organizational systems these makita made inserts for their storage boxes actually fit and are easy no cutting required to fit your tools, i use this as my track saw just came with a plastic insert and i wanted to better protect the base and this product does just that.

Works well for my makita trim router set: router, plunge base,fixed base,guide rail, dust collection fitting, etc.

managed to fit some of my Makita tools in the hard boxes with this stuff, but damn was it expensive with this foam alone to get the right fit.

this was a great fit for a dewalt box I got from my bank debit card points.. I store my trail cams and all their accessories very nicely with these custom fitting foam.

I had the Makita 66 drill bit set that came with the smaller sized box. I repurposed the box to carry my drill and impact driver and the foam worked great

Great Layers, Easy to seperate for custom fitting of cameras or electronics. Its even great for other cases and you just cut down to the size you need

If you use the Makita interlocking cases as I do, these foam trays are an absolute must-have - so much so that I'm both surprised and disappointed that the cases aren't just priced up a bit and come with the foam included. The good points are that these do fit the cases well, and the shapes do pluck out easy. The bad points are first and most heavily the absurd price (seriously, ten bucks would have been about right, and still a huge profit). The odd shape of the case interior (and thus this foam) heavily limits the usable space, especially if you want foam between tools and the outer case walls. Only coming in one thickness limits things a bit, and it's a real shame that there isn't a foam layer sold or included for the top of the case (which does exist, and is mounted in the contractor sets). Much of those complaints are as tied to the cases as this foam insert, but the price issue is with this product alone - the cases are very reasonable by comparison, cheaper to buy the case than the foam.

Purchased this and the large box for my corded makita track saw. It does the job well enough, but dont expect it to be as easy as the foam mold insert that comes with the 36V tracksaw.
