Q: Why such a hard time cleaning this pan?! Just bought. First All-Clad. But sticking and staining. Even with Barkeep's Friend. Please help. Thx!

SS is a learning curve. But once you get it, it out performs, cast iron, carbon, etc. Lots of people are jumping on the "you can season your SS". Although it does work, its a complete waste of time and unnecessary. Once u learn to use SS properly, food will not stick and clean up is a breeze. Good luck and dont give up!

Q: How does this pan compare to the 4112? Description sounds very similar but this price is much lower (with a lid.) Just because of sale?

I called Allclad and they said the only difference is that the 41126 comes with a lid. The discrepancy in the height measurement is because the 4112 listing measures to the top of the handle while the 41126 listing measures only to the top of the pan. The rep at Allclad assured me that the pans are identical and that the promo price wouldn't last forever.

Q: Is this 18/10 stainless, 304 surgical stainless, or 316 surgical stainless?

In all of my research before purchasing my All-Clad I have not come across the use of 304 or 316 surgical stainless, only 18/10. The Tri-ply cookware line that I have purchased (from Amazon and elsewhere) features a 3-ply design, 18/10 steel cooking surfaces, aluminum cores for the even heating, and the highly polished exterior 18/0 stainless for lasting beauty and induction compatibility. Hope this helps.

Q: Is All Clad Copper Core worth paying extra for?

the consensus answer I have found online is that copper core is NOT worth paying extra for. the all clad line with best temperature performance is actually the MC2, but the regular, 3 layer sandwich of SS around aluminum is the all-around winner because it is versatile (i.e. induction capable) and dishwasher safe, unlike MC2. started searching because I was contemplating purchase of a calphalon accucore set that was "deal of the day". learned the most at centurylife.org in an article about "is all-clad worth it". the answer was yes for the d3 all-clad but not for copper core.
