Weruva Cats in The Kitchen, Kitty Gone Wild with Wild Salmon Au Jus Cat Food, 3.2oz Can (Pack of 24)

Very nutritious product that my 2 cats have consistently enjoyed along with a varied diet. Small chunks of fish in a slightly jellied broth. Worth the price given its ingredients.

So you know what type of cats I am dealing with: One of my 4 cats will gobble anything up, she was a wild (but tame) cat for the first few years of her life, hunting around the property. She became a housecat at about age 5 and she still retains that "eat anything" mentality. She will eat the "Kitty Gone Wild", but she does tend to lick AROUND the obvious fish pieces in the can, which speaks volumes to me since she is a wild girl at heart and will munch on just about everything. (She is 20 years old now, and still doing awesome, which I attribute to a healthy diet) If she is really hungry, which is usually the first meal of the day, she will eat the fish chunks, but usually she leaves it and waits for the other cats to leave their food. The other 3 cats are not picky, they are used to raw food. Although this is not raw food, I got it because I was looking for something additional to give them, to diversify their diet. They like the "Fowl Ball", and all 3 of the Tuna flavors a lot! The problem is with the "Kitty Gone Wild" flavor, that it looks good since it has pieces of fish in it, but it smells horrid. They will stick their nose up at it if they have other food or are not super hungry. So I will not purchase that type again, the smell is absolutely gross and smells spoiled when it is freshly open too, which I cant handle. If it is left out for an hour it smells so bad that I had to light an incense even to go into the kitchen to throw it all away. There is no putting it in a trash can either, unless you take the trash out immediately! I genuinely gagged at the smell but thought maybe the kitties like that -- but no. I am used to raw food too, so this was surprisingly gross to me, its a very hard NO for this type. I am on the fence with this brand because of the terrible smell of the one type. I got 3 cases, so I will mix it in here and there.. but the smell is so bad with "Kitty Gone Wild" that I am hesitant to try other types, even though they seems to like all 3 tuna flavors and the "Fowl Bowl", it is not good to give them tuna all the time.... So, I doubt I will invest in more of this brand, but it was worth a try. Werva, please fix this so that its palatable to the cats that eat everything! You all must know how horrid it smells manufacturing it, and if you do not know - then something must be going wrong down the line, which really makes me leery of this food. Back to the drawing board for me!

To find a healthy food that cats aged 3 to 18 years old all continuously love is a miracle. I feel as though I’ve tried every canned food available and never before found one that all three keep craving for. My cats may try one of the new foods and eat it all and look happy. I go buy some more and realize it is only when it is a new entree that they are excited and the second or third time around they try to cover it or don’t touch it. Plus each cat has his and her own preference of flavors and consistency in canned food. I closely follow my vet’s recommendations for kibble which is specific to each cat, three times a day in three different rooms. The canned is for variety one, two or three times a day. Canned isn’t cheap but it gives them moisture and I like the idea of more than one food for flavor and nutrition. Three year old boy rarely even bothers to smell a new one and has eaten only a few types. Five year old girl is more particular and she may take a lick or two to try about half of the offers, then may throw up even very expensive foods, never this one. My 18 year old is on total prescription foods but I do cheat very, very occasionally and he unfortunately loves it a lot. We have tried all of Weruva’s products besides every other brand name and flavor in the stores and only my dogs get happy when there is a full bowl of wet wasted cat food sitting around. The last annual vet examine they all were perfect weights, looked strong and healthy. The 18 year old is pretty active as well so I highly recommend this Weruva Kittie Goes Wild Salmon au jus to make life easier and have happy cats.

Dog threw up, cat wouldn’t eat.

Used to love this cat food. This variety was a kitty favorite until the manufacturer started adding a lot of large chunks of fish, sometimes as much as 1/3 of a can, to this food. Since my cats can't chew fish chunks 1"×1/2" in size, I have to pick them out and throw them away. These are solid chunks that look like slices of small fish. This is definitely no longer pate which my cats prefer, and digging through this cat food and throwing out 1/3+ can is gross and wasteful. These are hard, large chunks that can't be mashed up w a fork. It's so wasteful. With a 6oz can of food, I can't any longer feed 3 cats a meal. It takes a second can. Sorry to say but I'm going back to Blue Buffalo which is pate. I didn't used to mind the price of Weruva when I could use the whole can. I've used it for 4+ years but the mess of digging fish chunks out of the can and wasting 1/3 of a can is just too much. Good quality, I believe, but not worth the mess or expense. If they ever lose the fish chunks, I'll be back.

This is an unusual product. Wonderful paté combined with big whole pieces of salmon. One of my cats loves it. One won't eat it. Is your cat a confirmed whole fish carnivore. Wiley LOVES it. Parsnip no way.

As anyone with cats can tell you they change their minds on foods as frequently was I change socks. I have been rotating through Wernuva for years and years and this is one of the flavors the cats have yet to turn their noses at.

My kitten goes wild for this food! He starts whining at me as soon as I come into the kitchen!! He absolutely loves this stuff, I started out with the four flavors 12 pack and got this 24 pack. It is more expensive than some of the other brands, but I read the labels and most (90%) of the other stuff out there is byproducts and junk. This little guy loves the chunks of real fish!
