Value & Variety
It has been 15 years since I have used any of my acoustic kits (having transitioned to E-Kits). The touring/live performances had taken their toll on my cymbal collection and the cost of replacing broken cymbals, coupled with being a starving artist, forced me into an early retirement. I remembered having a Meinl replacement crash and enjoyed the razor-y clearness it provided. As I contemplated re-brassing my acoustic collections, I stumbled on this cymbal pack from Meinl. The sheer number of cymbals and variety of types was difficult to resist at this price point. Upon receiving the cymbals, I was instantly pleased with the quality of the sound, the depth of lathing, the finish, the never-ending options. What an amusement park of cymbals! These are not your fathers budget line of pie pans from the 70's-90's. Certainly, they are not aligned with the "pro-grade" options available, but you might be stunned at how melodic they are. As a mass produced and affordable option, these will be providing me with all I shall need. As for the sound, the 20" ride produces a delightful ping with moderate sustain. The crashes 14", 16", 18" are responsive and open up quite easily. The 14" china is what I have come to expect from a 14". It is an efx cymbal more than a customary 18"+ china. The 8" bell is phenomenal! I cannot stay off of it. I walk past the kit and have to strike it. The 16" trash crash is something I will come to enjoy with time. It has it's own personality. As with any cymbal line, it is a relationship between the equipment and the player. I have heard fellow drummers to say that 'One must learn to draw the sound from the cymbal' -by learning it's sweet spots I presume. So far I am finding a load of these sweet spots in this amazing cymbal pack. No money can be better spent on such an assortment. I would not hesitate to buy an identical cymbal pack for the other kits.

I'm a changed drummer I'm swapping out all my symbols for MEINL SYMBOLS
At first I was leery of this MEINL BELL because of the extremely low price. But I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong. This MEINL BELL IS JUST ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY AMAZING. Just a slight stick strike rings out a crisp crystal clear ping that just goes on and on. Also you can achieve multiple different sounds from this bell. By rim shot mid bell strike or very top of bell strikes. Also you can achieve totally different ping by turning upside down and simply adjusting the tension of your wing nut. I wish I had tried MEINL symbols BEFORE I invested in the OH so overrated brand that(hint starts with Z) because they absolutely suck compared to MEINL and I am seriously going to change out my entire symbol collection for MEINL SYMBOLS I'm definitely a MEINL SYMBOLS DRUMMER threw and threw now I'm hooked AND recommend that any new drummers out there who are starting to find there symbol sound that just sets off your individual rythum skip over all the label whore pos symbols out there and get these MEINL SYMBOLS you won't be sorry

NOT a shabby cymbal!
I am somewhat disappointed with Amazon's delivery time (the cymbal did not ship until 7 days after I placed the order), but I am happy with the overall quality of the cymbal itself. The HCS series of Meinl cymbals is marketed toward "beginner" drummers. As a drummer who has been behind his set for over 40 years, I have to say that this particular cymbal is pretty darn good sounding. I have 2 Sabian HHX Ozone cymbals and I have to say that the Meinl HCS series of Ozone cymbals is very close to the quality of my Sabians. I would not hesitate to recommend this HCS cymbal to a professional or a beginning drummer. My only complaint is that the circular cutouts have rough edges. I would compare this cymbal to a high quality B8, hand hammered composition cymbal. If you are looking for an Ozone cymbal at a relatively decent price, I would have to say that this it the cymbal you want.

Great value in cymbals.
Amazing price for such a full set of cymbals. My only issue is the crashes are a little more trashy sounding than I was hoping for, however they are growing on me. The trash crash however has an incredible sound and has replaced my use of China cymbals almost completely. The ride and high hats have a great tone and can cut through loud music quite well. Highly recommended for beginners.

Best Deal on the Market.
Ive always played some mixture of Zildjian or Sabian low end cymbals (zbt, B8, etc...) for about 20 years now on my home kit and this set has just blown me away for the value. They are a bit thinner and a bit quiter than what Im used to but its worth it for the more uniform sound and versatilty. If you are expecting to get a $4000 set at this price point then dont bother. However, if you want a good sounding, well rounded, versatile set for a great price grab these up!! Oh yeah, and they look awesome behind the kit too!!

I like this cymbal set! Good sound and lots of potential based on how you set it up!
This set is pretty good for the money! Some of the lighter cymbals (14" crash, etc) are a but thin in sound (tinny??) but make a mean "splash" for the overall set. There are a ton of variables that you can make with this set. I paired a keyholed & cracked 16" crash with the trash crash to make a stack that has some pretty interesting wispy sounds. Also the china, while not a bad sound, is a little light. The ride is light but still solid and the 18" crash has some meat to the sound. The 10" splash is light and the bell provides a depth that I had not experienced before. Overall this is a great cymbal set for the money. It has awesome potential based on how you set it up and the pairings for different sounds. I would definitely recommend this cymbal set to others.

Decent Cymbal
Pretty decent item but the sound does go away pretty quick. But it’s okay for the price

Good set up
good set up for the correct pricing, don’t expect proffesional sound, mostly for the ride and 14inch china but overall a very nice package
