This Calder Range (Calder Saga) Paperback – 12 Oct. 2009

This is the first book in the wonderful Calder series by Janet Dailey. It is necessary to read these books in order, as the main character in subsequent novels of this series will always centre around a decendant of the 'hero' in this book. This is basically a romance between a very rugged cowboy who makes good, and becomes a cattle baron with a legacy to hand down the generations. His love interest is a very naive texan girl, who has to grow up quickly. The plot of the book is very much the same in each of the novels, and follows the saga through. However, it is enjoyable read, and leaves you wanting more.
