Best product to help people stand up
I bought this for my Aunt whom recently had stroke. We put this under couch cushion and it works tremendously!! She does not have to scoot etc. very durable sturdy and does not weigh alot so she can move it herself. Very simple to put together! Price was great also!!

Great product
The stand assist was a huge help to my mother. It enabled her to get to her feet more easily from her sofa so she could then walk with less frustration. It was easy to assemble

Helpful after injury in Lay-Z-Boy Chair
This worked really well in our Lay-Z-Boy chair. My mom was struggling to get out of the car after breaking her heal. This has really helped her transfer from the chair to the wheelchair and back.

Has been helpful for getting up from a low bed
I didn’t want to buy this, it seems expensive for what it is. But I’m currently using a walker and am non weight bearing for months still. My bed is too low for me to stand up using my one good leg and without tipping the walker over. I did it for a couple weeks but the struggle and angle caused muscle pulls/tears and I was in danger of not ever being able to get up out of bed unless someone was here to help me. So, I caved and bought it. It’s still too expensive for what it is, but it has made getting up easier and at least one of two pulled muscles has calmed down. In this regard, it has been very worthwhile. I have been using this on top of the mattress, note that the instructions say you can use it on top of the mattress or couch cushion as long as the two arms sit far enough back from the edge. It’s not been a problem for me at all but I could see some people using it wrong and injuring themselves. Make sure it sits back at least 1-2 inches from the edge!

Get assistance for Parkinson's patient
Easy to assemble and install on chair, sofa or loveseat. Works just as described. Very sturdy for my 6'1" 210 lbs husband with Parkinson's. So much safer and convenient than struggling to get off the loveseat.

Product will perform as advertised.
Super easy to assemble and install on couch or chair. A couch cushion provides little to no support to aid a person boosting themselves up. When properly positioned on the couch or chair and the support bars are properly height adjusted for the person who will use them, The Aid Bar will provide a solid means of support for that person to stand-up from the couch.

One of the bars broke, after several months of use
Loved it until one handlebar broke. My husband was pretty good at breaking things. To clarify, he'd sometimes put a lot of pressure on things that I wouldn't have put so much pressure on. Sometimes it was hard to know if they broke because he was just a big guy and his first reaction if something seemed stuck was to push harder, vs. just backing off and trying to figure out what is causing the problem -- which would be my first reaction to a stuck thing. So we had a a broken dishwasher handle, a broken chair handle, broken recliner leg rests, and then this thing. Maybe some of those items weren't made very well, but I never had so many things break when I was single. So, I think the breakage could have been partly his fault. BUT ... this thing is designed to help people with mobility issues. It really shouldn't have broken, even with Mr. Clumsy using it. That's why I'm only giving it 3 stars. We had gotten good use out of it for maybe 4 months, though, before it broke. So I didn't try to contact the manufacturer or anything. And during those 4 months or so, Mr. Clumsy loved it! It did make it much easier for him to get up from the couch.

light weight, works for my "weird situation".
I've been trying to get a TABLE on my new kayak that I use for wildlife photography. A place to set my camera and LEAN ON for stability on those long lens hand held shots. I thought on this product for about a month and went from aluminum rod, to PVC and everything in between. I then stumbled into this idea. It was between this and another one that was 10 more (and looks FAR BETTER for the reason they are bing sold). This one is rather flimsy and seemed like it's made in someone's basement. Really OVER PRICED. HOWEVER for my needs it was worth every penny. I mounted it under and around my kayak seat and the handles become a way to mount my clip on table top. It works PERFECTLY for my weird situation! I used nylon ties to lock it to my kayak seat frame. Works GREAT. 5 stars for MY NEED... 3-4 stars for the reason it's being sold. I'd spend 10.00 more for the better one for being an aid to help you stand up.
