So I can wire these to a pendant box? I have dimmers but there is no "dimmer wire". Will these only dim with that wire connected?

I purchased these to use in a residential application (galley kitchen) and could not get them to work on any style dimmer including a 0-10v. I have standard 120 v residential wiring: a switch controlled hot wire, neutral and ground go to the j box feeding these. Additional wiring was not a reasonable option for me. I was disappointed as this set is a great price, easy to install, and lots of light! I realized I was ok without needing to dim so I kept.

Can this product be mounted flush to the ceiling as described? And if so what is the product I need to do so? Thanks

You can "engineer" a way to surface mount it, but out of the box it is intended to hang via aircraft cables

Where do I connect the purple and grey wires in order to use the dimmer?

These need special 0-10V dimmer switches. These switches use a separate wire that run on low voltage (corresponding to 0 and 10V) to dim or brighten the lights. I bought these lights and tried to use regular dimming switches, but they won't work.

If you don’t have the need to dim them can you just use a standard switch? I don’t have the dimming wires and it’s not feasible to retrofit them.

Yes. That’s the way we installed them. The dimming feature is done through separate pink/purple wires that come out the other end of the internal ballast. We didn’t have any wiring like that in place either, and didn’t see the need to add the capability to dim—they’re not so bright that they’d need dimming. So we just didn’t use those wires and hard-wired the fixture, using the regular black/white wires. They work perfectly and look great!!! Really happy with them so far. I only have photos and I guess Amazon only accepts videos, so if I can amend this answer tomorrow, I’ll add a video. Hope this helps!
