Works in bathroom that tends to get quite humid.
Ive had this unit running for over a year now and is still performing the same, noise wise, light is still working even though I purchased it with 2 additional replacement bulbs I am glad I havent had to touch them so far.USB port is working and is actually a great addition I thought never would be needed but came in handy to power on a scent oil fan that uses the USB so its great for that without having extra 5V adapter plugged in the wall.At one instance possibly after 6 months of running it had some whine noise to it for a couple of weeks where I thought it was the fan about to die and I expected it to though after that it went back to normal. If it kills odors? I would say so, but not at a very fast rate though definitely sanitizes the air in very small to small rooms. Mid-sized bathroom is a little too much but It can handle it though takes longer. Not sure of the fan CFM but my guess comparing to computer fans, it would be at around 40. Noise level isnt distressing nor calming but say like a centrifugal laptop fan thats in higher spin mode however enclosure of this unit makes the sound more echoed and amplified, if I could put it that way. There are slits on sides, bottom and top, and needs to be dusted, I vacuum it once a month or two so it definitely also acts as a dust filter, sort of. If you ever seen the cloud of a toilet paper or tissue in sunlight, you get the idea why this clogs with dust in bathrooms so fast.Maybe I wish this had a compartment for scent cartridges so that I wouldnt have to have a scent oil USB fan connected to it and maybe I wish it had a fan speed setting knob. Still, its a 5 star product for me that does the job well the way it is and I do recommend it.

What sorcery is this???
Y'all. I plugged this thing in yesterday about 3 feet from the litter box my two cats share. I had high hopes, but with a rather large helping of skepticism. These cats, man...they are adorable and cuddly and I love them to pieces, but they the absolute stinkiest cats I've ever owned. Yes, we've tried switching food/litter. Their litter box funk overrides every air freshener or odor remover or candle I've tried. In addition, our house is 116 years old, so it gets that lovely musty old house smell that's more noticeable some times than others (like in the warm, humid summers of Indiana). Our litter box is located next to our washer/dryer which is essentially in our kitchen. The room is approximately 220 square feet. Due to the layout of our house, the litter box is oddly in close proximity to the kitchen, our bathroom, and our bedroom. So the smell travels well. So, I get this thing in the mail yesterday, and immediately open it and plug it in. We had to leave for a cookout right afterwards. Came home 4 hours later and...the first thing I smell is NOT the litter box, for the first time in approximately forever. I intentionally left the litter box un-scooped before I plugged it in, so I could get a more accurate sense of how well it worked, if that makes sense. As of right now, I'm convinced it's made of magic and unicorn dust, because I cannot smell the litter box without standing directly over it. Incredible.About the gadget itself: it's roughly the size of a box of Kraft Mac and cheese. Yes, it emits a blue light from the front and top. I can see where it could be disruptive to those who are light-sensitive if it were located in a bedroom. But it's no brighter than any of the nightlights I own. Yes, it makes noise. It's a very unobtrusive "shhhhh" sound that is similar to (and no louder than) the fan in a computer. Tabletop/oscillating/box fans are louder than this. (Then again, I'd probably gladly take the odor-removing properties of this thing even if it sounded like a jet engine.)All in all, I'm amazed. We're getting ready to leave for a 10-day vacation here soon, and I'm always shocked at how musty and litter box-y my house smells when we come home from an extended trip (even with someone housesitting and cleaning the box regularly). So, if by some chance, I'm just imagining how well this thing works (with some nose-blindness thrown in), I'll know for certain here soon and will update my review. But as it stands...I'm not regretting a single penny I spent on it.

Works but might be loud for some
I was a bit turned off at first when I discovered that this product came in one of those clear hard plastic that you will need heavy duty scissors to cut into. It always scares me in opening products in those containers as I know first hand how bloody it can get! Amazon frustration free please! Gosh, I was a bit turned off for the first 15 minutes when I opened it as it did have that cheap plastic smell when you plug it in. However, upon letting it warm up it definitely sanitized the room very well. You will notice the results in a smaller space. If you really want to see how well it works at deodorizing a room, I recommend leaving the room you plugged the product in and coming back after a few minutes. You will discover the room smelling fresh upon returning!Describing the freshness is a bit difficult, and it is not a placebo effect at all too! My friend came to my apartment and noticed the "clean" smell right away! I have a dog that just seems to smell like a dog from time to time which gives my apartment that distinct lived in odor. My friend who came in remarked about the change the minute he entered, without warning him of the sanitizer. I read in some comments on this product that it does not get rid of the kitty litter smell, which I would assume it can't as it is only a small device that seems to battle the moderate scents in a room.To be objective about the noise that everyone mentioned in previous comments on this product...There really is a pronounced noise to it that might either bother or soothe an individual. I find it both... When I need real quiet this thing really does NOT offer that. However, there is something soothing about the sound as well that can be described like a white noise. I kept it on during sleep and it really helped me sleep as it masks all other noises. It sounds more like a gentle fan that does not hit your face and dry it out.My one concern is the bulb. I'm curious how long it will last?! Looking at Amazon it looks like the replacement will cost around $8. My hope is that I only need to replace it once a year with a 12 hour/day use. If not, the cost might be too much for my taste. I will keep you updated to see if it bugs out on me!I recommend to try it out if you have moderate scents you want to get rid of and live in a smaller space. For the price of $22-25 I think it is worth it. Don't buy it for more... save it for the new bulbs you're going to need to purchase later on.
