Madame X, Madonna's highly-anticipated 14th studio album will be released on June 14th. Influenced creatively by living in Lisbon, Portugal over the past several years, Madame X is a collection of songs that celebrate Madonna's career-long affair with Latin music and culture as well as other global influences. Singing in Portuguese, Spanish and English, highlights on the album include "Medell?n," which was co-produced by Mirwais and captures the spirit of Maluma's hometown. Review: An amazing piece of music and artistry - Quite possibly Madonna’s deepest and most meaningful album yet. As even Madonna has mentioned, “this isn’t meant to be background music”, so to fully appreciate the artistic meaning and beauty of Madame X, each song calls for intent listening. Those of us who wish to listen with an open mind will realize that every song has various meanings such as the search for independence or freedom, the will to survive into possibly an uncharted future, uniqueness and acknowledging that it’s simply alright to be yourself without conforming to what others may believe is right or wrong. There are many other messages that are offered in this beautiful piece of artistic expression. That sound of Jamaican like music and lyrics only serve to accentuate Madame X. With this said, this is not your typical or usual Madonna, but after a couple of careful listens, I quickly realized that this might be the jewel in her complete catalogue. If nothing else, one must be appreciative that Madonna was willing to step out of her comfort zone and express what she is presently experiencing as that’s what a true artist does. Many thanks and kudos to Madame X for this amazing piece of artistry. Review: SO ahead of the curve and brilliant - I feel Madonna had lost her way the last album ( Rebel Heart) she was trying to fit in. This was never her and not what fans wanted from her. This album is such a return to form. Listening to it from beginning to end is a religious experience It's not an album for the basics. It is so ahead of the curve, so modern and forward looking and at the same time so intimate and personal. It's phenomenal . The song Dark Ballet leading in to the song God Control is awe inspiring .(An amazing and crazy disco song with a so relevant message of gun control). Future, Killer who are partying , Looking for Mercy, I rise , Extreme Occident are all superb songs......The best for me that I have had on repeat non stop is " I don't search I find" a song harking back to her 90"s era Vogue / Erotica days. It is a relentless, Insanely good deep house/ Trance song that would have been blasting from all the 90"s afterhour clubs. Just pure heaven and perfection. THIS IS MADONNA AT THE TOP. Not giving a F..k. and doing what she does the best mixing genres , thinking globally , being herself, not worrying about charts and creating a whole new sound . BRILLIANT

One of my favorite CDs
Great album. Amazing development of content and style for Madonna. Especially love first and third tracks (Medelin and God Control). One of my favorite CDs.

She certainly likes to stir things up!!!
To paraphrase a car commercial from a few years ago: “This is not your Mother’s Madonna.” 'Madame X' is arguably the most radical reinvention of the former Material Girl: At times dark, moody and political—it’s probably no coincidence the album dropped in the middle of LGBTQ Pride Month. And despite the heavy Latin influence, don’t look for many catchy hooks to lure you onto the dance floor circa Studio 54 days. (I don’t speak Spanish or Portuguese, but it definitely would increase your appreciation for Madame X if you did.) Like Madonna’s last few albums—going back to 'MDNA'—'Madame X' has some stuff I like and some that I don’t care for. That could be because I’m a few years older than Madonna and gave up trying to keep up with current music trends a while ago. In any case, it’s worth a listen. But be forewarned: It may not be your cup of tea. I think back some 50 years to The Beatles’ 'White Album'. The follow-up to the monster classic 'Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band' had its fans but also its detractors. But, hey, it’s Madonna. She’s been ‘causing a commotion’ for decades. Why stop now.

Good stuff. Still relevant!
I planned to see her Madame X tour, so bought the album. I love it. It's fresh-largely unique from her previous work. I love all of the songs with the exception of "Crave" ft. Swae Lee, which I like but don't love because to me it sounds too much like current pop. But I do like it enough not to skip over it. "I Rise" is an anthem for our times. "Medellín" ft Maluma is sexy and fun, and the video is mesmerizing. "Batuka" and its video are inspiring. The women in the video are part of her Madame X show. I recommend this album and Madame X show, which she's performing in small venues. It's excellent and intimate. My least favorite is "e, and that's just because That being said, I don't skip over it while listening to the album, so it isn't actually bad. I'm impressed that she's still putting out relevant and original stuff!

A crazy fun ride with Madame X.
Madonna is very far away from those great 80's and 90's gems. My dream was for Madonna to work with Patrick Leanard again. Maybe next time? In the meantime we have Madame X - her 14th studio album and it's very different from all her past albums. I do like it , this coming from one of her original fans (November 1982) God Control.is suppose to be the next single with a video ready to premiere. Both the song and video take me back to Deeper and Deeper days. I hope this song is serviced to Pop radio. I love I Don't Search I Find, Come Alive, Looking For Mercy, Extreme Occident, Crave, Bitch I'm Loca. This is her best album since Confessions...Perhaps my only complaint is why must she use autotune when her singing improved with Bedtime Stories by 90% and by the time Evita and Ray Of Light she was at her best vocally..Im not a huge fan of Mirwais for this reason. But the songs with autotune work for the most part. I hope with this album her fascination with autotune ends.

It's Madonna, Bitch!!
I have been a fan of Madonna from her first album back in 1983 and have witness her numerous reinventions/re-branding and attraction to new fads over the years. For this, her 15th studio album, Madonna has adorned a glitzy eye-patch and calls herself "Madame X". Using this new persona and influenced by the music in Portugal, where she was living at the time, we are presented with the unique musical perspective of "Madame X" who is a Cha Cha Instructor, A Professor, A Head of State, A Housekeeper, A Equestrian, A Prisoner, A Student, A Teacher, A Nun, A Cabaret Singer, A Saint and A Prostitute...…….. which are all the characteristics of the Madonna we all know. So under the eye-patch we can still find Madonna. The music on this album is as equally confusing as the character she has chosen to portray. The result is Madonna's most eclectic and avant garde album to date. This is not the usual dance music, most of the songs are mid-tempo, that sometimes go off in a strange direction with different influences, along with Spanish and Portuguese thrown in for good measure. Nothing special will jump out at you on the first or even second listen of the album, but there are a few gems in between Like Medellin, Batuka, Crave, Crazy and I Rise. I strongly recommend a re-mix of Dark Ballet without the strange taking parts. This Madonna album could be compared to Lady Ga-Ga's "Pop Art" album, which it was reported the artist apologised to her fans for. Only time will tell how this album will fare amongst Madonna's body of work. However, we can all rest assured that Madonna will never apologise for her "Art" After all, it's Madonna, Bitch! Madame X album
