Yes, I bought them because they are Star Wars. I've had them for about two weeks (they arrived on May the Fourth! ;-). I've received many compliments on them.I am not an expert in sound systems or headphone audio in ANY way, I am just a lover of music and a gamer.I've been buying earbuds over and over and over for too long - they die too fast and if not just perfectly sized - they hurt me!I decided I needed to try the over the ear option. I wear my headphones for a couple hours a day while commuting - and sometimes a couple more for video games. I was concerned about comfort, since I have had some that hurt even with minimal use.The padding on these is super soft & squishy and it took like 4 hours before they started to annoy me - and then I just adjusted where they were sitting and they were fine. Love all the packaging and the nifty carrying case (which, when wearing the headphones, is handy for carrying something that might otherwise get crushed in my bag) They cancel out the noise around me well, but not entirely.I would not have paid the list price for them - but the amazon pricing made it worth it to me, and I did get the 3 year replacement plan. All told it's aboot $30 a year - and I've certainly been throwing more than that away on "disposable" earbuds. I love them so far. Will update if anything changes or about durability.FYI - the picture shows them looking chrome-ish and metallic.They are not - the silver parts are all flat grey in person, which I was actually happy about.

I recently got these as a gift for my milestone birthday (by utilizing gift cards), and I am so happy with them, I giddily feel like buying the whole set. Clearly the coolest nerdy thing I have ever gotten myself, the sound quality is great for these middle-aged ears, and the design beats (no pun intended) any other headphone I've owned so far. I have even given myself extra time at night to listen to music in peace with these on, something I haven't done in ages. The construction seems sturdy. The sound quality is great. Since I have older ears, I have been trying to keep the volume levels in headphones low, and even at the lowest levels, I can hear crisp, clean sound. I use them mostly for classical scores so far, but I have also enjoyed classic rock and the occasional pop tune with them. As one of the original Star Wars fans (from the '70's), the design was absolutely a deciding factor, but I am glad that it was done in such a stylish, and somewhat subtle way that really, only true geeks might catch onto them. My only complaint, if we should even call it that, (being that this is my first ever set of "pro" headsets), is the headphone plug which can be unplugged to tuck this away. I am in constant fear of it being lost or ruined. Is there a way to get a replacement should that happen? I loved the design of the box, the nice little extra touches, and the feeling that this is a quality product which is representative of my favorite movie series. I honestly am considering using some gift certificates to get another pair!

When I look at the pictures on Amazon (and other websites, including smsby50.com), it looks like the rebel alliance symbol is a grey metal inlay, but it's not. Instead it's raised molded plastic. When I opened the box, my first thought was that these are for a toddler.If you're looking for Star Wars headphones, I'd check them out in-person before I purchased (regardless of the design you choose), so that you know what you're getting.**Edit**I've uploaded photos to give a more accurate representation of the product. These headphones are absolutely fantastic! I can't understand why there are people giving these headphones a one star review. The sound is incredible, the bass is powerful, the design is solid, they are extremely well built, it folds up conveniently and fits into a beautifully designed protective case. I have a pair of noise cancelling Bose headphones, and the sound from the Star Wars SMS headphones is quite comparable. I received the Rebel pair as a Birthday present, and was so impressed that I purchased the Storm Trooper headphones. What irritates me, is that I hesitated to buy a pair of these headphones because of the negative review (especially the ones that claim that they are flimsy and the sound is mediocre). Nothing could be farther from the truth. The sound is fantastic, they are comfortable, and well built, and as I am an avid Star Wars maniac, these were an absolute must for me. This force is indeed strong with these.
