This is an outstanding garlic press. I've had experience with two other garlic presses in the past -- one a generic store brand garlic press, and the other an Oxo garlic press belonging to my girlfriend -- and this is easily superior to either product (especially the generic brand).The first thing I noticed upon opening the product is its very high quality construction. My previous garlic press was made with fairly cheap materials, and was already showing its age after only a few months use. This one on the other hand, feels very sturdy and well-crafted. It's clear that this product was designed for heavy use, rather than for people who just use garlic once or twice a year.As many of the other reviews on Amazon note, you do not need to peel the garlic in order to use this. Simply take the garlic clove, insert it into the press, and squeeze. The garlic comes out very easily, and there isn't much left inside the compartment afterwards. Cleaning was also very simple -- just running under the faucet for a few seconds was enough to clear things out.This is admittedly a lot more expensive than a generic brand (which only put me back about $2), but I wouldn't recommend a generic brand to anyone who is serious about cooking with garlic. At the time I purchased this product, it was a little under $20, which for me is well worth the price. This saves me a lot of time in the kitchen preparing my garlic, and avoids the frustration I used to have with other models.One last note I'd like to mention is that the customer service from Orblue (the makers of the product) is quite incredible. I was actually contacted by email (by the company co-founder, no less) to make sure I had received the product. Not many companies these days would do that, so it's nice to see a company willing to go the extra step to make sure their customers are satisfied.

Solid garlic press. We use it on cloves and make a pile of whatever didn’t get through the first time and press that through again when we get through the cloves. I think it works very well. We’ve tried the garlic plates also and this seems better and easier
