Dangerous Fling (Dangerous Noise Book 4)

This is another fantastic addition to the Dangerous Noise series. It will be hard to put down and cold showers may be needed! This book has just the right amount of everything Malcolm Strong is the older brother to Ethan and Piper (books 1 & 2). He had to take over raising them when his parents took off to work in different countries. He had to step into the role of a responsible parent at a young age to his siblings. Causing him to be the one in control, the responsible one who takes care of it all including the band as time goes on. We have heard of his like for "control" in other books especially while his sister is being teased about her brothers sex life so you knew this story was going to be steamy! It was delivered and then some. Mal and Lacey were perfect fo each other. Mal did not want anything serious, he did not want someone to get the chance to break his heart and prove that once you love someone they just walk away. He is guarded and closed off and never really sharing a true piece of himself. Lacey has just left her longtime boyfriend who she loved but on an intimate level never felt wanted or desired. She carries around a lot of guilt over leaving him for that reason. She also has doubts about herself and how any man can desire her. She is also very sexually frustrated! Mal and Lacey meet while she is an assistant to the director of his new music video. She is a fan actually, a big one so she is already a little hot and bothered as he walks thru the door. Malcolm not knowing who she is thinks she is the lead love interest aka sex partner in his video. Lacey is surprised by this and needless to say more than happy to step in when her boss asks her to while waiting for the real one to work on some things. The chemistry gets pretty hot fast. He is really turned on by her and she is beyond sexually frustrated and now laying underneath her crush! HOT HOT HOT! Lacey however loves directing videos and she has a different idea then her boss for the video which she shares with Mal. He really likes it and is really impressed that she actually understands the true story he was telling with his song. That maybe she sees more than the persona and maybe sees the man as well. Mal enjoys Lacey and is curious about her and really wants to have sex with her...Lacey is in serious need of having sex and has a lot of pent of desire. What starts as a great idea of friends with benefits, slowly builds into something deeper while they heal the broken parts inside each other. I am privileged to be part of Crystal Kaswell's arc team and get an advance copy of her book for my honest review. Now having said that it will not stop me from buying my ebook and adding her paperback to my collection...obviously a huge fan. Crystal has given another great read from beginning to end in her Dangerous Noise series. I am sad that it is over but can not wait to read the next...Logan comes to mind! Oh and Encore is coming out to! Just giving us fans one more chance to wrap our selves in their world!

I was so excited to finally read Mal's story. We already know (if you've read the rest of the series - which you should before reading this one), that Mal likes to be in charge and has had a lot thrown in his shoulders over the years, but glimpses of what's under that have shown through in the other books. Seeing it in its entirety was fantastic and made me love the guy more. Lacey is another fantastic addition to the cast - she's fun, determined, and once again extremely relatable. I'm sad all the guys have had their stories told, but glad to have read them all.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and I also bought it because I MUST own every Crystal Kaswell rock star book she writes! They are amazing. EVERY single story. This is the 4th book about the band Dangerous Noise and tells the story of Malcolm Strong, defacto leader of the band, lead singer, older brother of Ethan the lead guitarist, older brother to Piper whose story we read in Dangerous Crush. Mal is stoic, quiet, a take-charge kind of guy, responsible, with a side of kink (which his bandages tease him about). Mal does not date, does not do relationships, does not have girlfriends, does not fail in love, and will extricate himself from any woman who gets messy and says she's in love with him. No way. Enter Lacey, assistant to the director on the new Dangerous Noise video featuring only Mal and a bleached blonde actress who's supposed to represent his one true love. The actress is late so Lacey is used as a stand in for the filming and the chemistry between her and Mal is explosive. The actress arrives but the filming is lackluster. Lackey sees Mal after filming and shows him that she could put together a hot video story by splicing the video with her/him and the actress/him. Mal wants Lacey to do it and not her director boss who doesn't get him or the Dangerous Noise music. So begins an interesting business relationship. Mal wants Lacey to direct this video and the next big video for the band. The two also acknowledge the sexual chemistry between them and act on it. HOT scenes! Steamy! But this kid a non-relationship, no strings, either can call when it ends or it ends in 2 months when the band goes on your, no getting messy and falling in love kind of stuff! Lacey agrees at the beginning but guess what happens.....You'll have to read the book to see how it ends. Be aware that Mal mostly raised his younger brother and sister because their parents were off doing research. He always wanted them all to be a family again but the folks rarely chose to come home. Mal needed to be needed so when his siblings found love, he was jealous? lonely? angry? lost?all of the above and more...

This is my first book to read by Crystal Kaswell and it was absolutely amazing! I totally loved Dangerous Fling!! This was the fourth book in the Dangerous Noise series but I was able to follow along even though I have yet to read the first three. I really enjoyed the characters and their relationships with each other. From the moment Mal and Lacey both meet there is an instant attraction and sparks fly. Lacey is able to see behind the rock star persona and see the sad and lonely man that is scared to be hurt again. Both Mal and Lacey carry emotional baggage. They help heal each other and end up being exactly what the other needs. The love story between Mal and Lacey broke my heart and then put it back together again. This book is so much more than a hot rockstar read. It's a story about the bonds of family, forgiveness, healing, and learning how to let yourself be loved. Dangerous Fling is a definite must read! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book but loved it so much I had to one-click it immediately.

Nothing to dislike

Crystal Kaswell engages us with her characters, she wants us to get to know each of her musicians and their eventual successful relationships, she is always unexpected (except for the HEA but how do we get there) and I have enjoyed this particular series immensely. I won't go into the plots as other reviewers so admirably and informatively do so better than I; I have recently fallen for rock star novels but most are ill written or too obvious; but this author is outstanding. Ms Kaswell is a star of the genre, one of the few.

Loved this one. The series really are great. Mal is such a strong character, super sexy. I wish I had more hours in the day, couldn’t put this one down.
