Love this product for locs. My local beauty supply store stopped selling it. Some people prefer Jamaican mango and lime gel. I have used both but I prefer this one. Murray's Loc lock gel has some natural oils like olive and almond oil included.It smells nice too. It leaves my hair moisturized and makes my locs shiny. No flakes and soft touch. The hold is good once its dry. Once dry, my hair is shiny and the loc recoils if you try to untwist it. So I know it holds. It is also water soluble so it shampoos out easily with no residue.With Jamaican mango and lime gel, the hold is stronger but it leaves my hair and scalp very dry. There were no flakes but my hair would look dull. It shampoos out fairly well. I think people judge the Murray's gel before letting it dry . So my advice is to use on dampened hair, not fully wet and blow dry or tie in place for an hour. I wash my locs and retwist the next day since my hair holds a lot of water. I still have the Jamaican mango and lime gel( the one without beeswax). It smells delicious. So if I run out of Murray's and need to use it, I will just mix some olive oil in it because the hold is good too.

Love this product. Its locs well with great hold, smells nice and does not cause residue buildup like some. Lightweight and moisturizing without sticky texture.

Like the ease of use and used for retaining curls in place.
