Old School Is The Way
The old-school style 80s one works 500x better. It busts out the labels and maintains the retro aesthetic. Way better than the other model that breaks after one use. Not quite the same as the OG metal ones, but this gets the job done. Nice clear writing, I don't think it is going to break in my hand while embossing. The current packaging includes an installed roll of black and an extra roll in the packaging.

Good old Dymo!
It's been a while since I had or needed one, but when it was time to organize the bars for the hurricane shutters, this Dymo was perfect. The tool is easy to use, and the labels are easy to read--sharp and clear-- and durable.

It's old technology that works
For the younger generations that have never used a DYMO style labeler and especially for those that gave this 15400 model one star because it was difficult to use... Yes, this DYMO labeler is old technology - it does not use batteries, it has no computer chips, can't use Alexa to turn it on and no blue tooth to synch with your smart phone. It is manually operated and has an instruction manual you can read to show you how to use it. The 154000 is easy to use just like a circa 1970s DYMO label maker I used to have. Not as well built as the vintage one used in the past, but it still works... it embosses letters by compressing them onto plastic tape to make a label. Yes, you must squeeze the unit hard to make the embossed impression and manually turn the wheel to each new letter to create a label. Then advance the tape and cut the label - manually. Hey it's a manual label maker. Suggest referring to the included instructions when changing out the plastic label tape. This model is a bit finicky to align, but once the tape is loaded in the proper slot it works well and stays in alignment. I rated it 4 stars because of its less than robust construction - while it does a good job that meets my needs, I am not sure how long this unit will last with occasional use. Recommended for labeling/organizing work shop tools and storage. A place for every tool and every tool in its place. Gives the shop drawers, peg board and cabinets a nice retro 70s label feel too.

bigger letters than other embossers, good value
I got a dymo embosser from Walmart that does 3/8 tapes I seen a review of this one that also does 3/8 tapes as well as 1/2 I think but a reviewer compared 2 embossers and used 3/8 tape and this one has bigger letters that's why I bought this one there was a quick learning curve but once I mastered it it was easy the embossing tape is thick and sticks well, i originally used it on my pull out husky drawers

Absolute junk!
It is sad how far the quality of Dymo products has fallen over the years. My old Dymo label maker (made of metal, not plastic) was an excellent product and lasted more than 10 years. This item is total junk. The photo of the output is not is not only misleading, it is an outright lie. The print quality is much lower than is shown. The letters are not at all crisp, with some letters resembling a blob rather than letters. The print size is significantly smaller than that shown in the picture. Also, the tape cutting mechanism failed after one use.

Model and features confusion
I ordered and received the Dymo 1540 office mate 11. In horizontal mode it works great. The problem came with printing labels vertically. The web pictures show a black machine and states it prints vertically as well as horizontally - it doesn’t. I called the company and they said my model only prints horizontally . They told me I could return my machine and get an updated one. The new model would be the same model number. I ordered a model that stated it did certain things which it does not. The updated model looks very different . I don’t know why a highly different model wouldn’t have a different model number or name - very confusing. I will keep this item as I don’t want to drive 20 miles to return it but I would be reluctant to do business with this company again. Very good product , questionable business practices.

10/10 would recommend!
It's wonderful! Exactly what I was looking for. I was a bit sceptical because of some of the reviews. I recommend buying the professional set because it comes with 5 refills, 3 extra and 2 inside the box. The only problem I had with it was figuring out how to center the lettering. Every time you turn the letter wheel it moves the tape a little. You also need to hold down the handle for a while to get a bold print. Overall I think it just takes practice to get use to it.

Fantastic and works great with 1/2" tape
I purchased this item to work with some vintage 1/2" label tape that I purchased on eBay a while back. I was skeptical because of the other reviews, but this is the only Dymo label maker I could find that would fit the 1/2" tape. I've been using Dymo label makers for several years in scrapbooking and paper crafting so I was used to the "old school" technology. This item has a much heavier feel than my other label makers and also gives a definite "punch" when the letters are created (my others you just press really hard and hope for the best). The one tip I can give is to be very deliberate when you release the lever after the letter is punched. If you only release it halfway, you're not going to get the spacing you need between letters. I love this item! Now if I could just find a lowercase wheel to fit it....hint hint Dymo...

As i see the brand and model respectful, i cant say the same about the obvious usage signs like open package, loose to no fittings and the lovely oily mark of someone’s index fingerprint on the main punch lever

Love it! I use it on my jars of bulk product and it works really well!

It does emboss much more consistently than cheaper Dymo models but the letters are bigger and the standard disc lacks some characters I could have used. Doesn’t look like the disc can be replaced. Feels more solid than cheaper units but I wish it was made of metal. Couldn’t find a better one than this.

States it is compatible with 3/8” (9mm) tapes, but they don’t remain centred and the print becomes skewed. Also states that it comes with a 12mm tape, but it in fact comes with a 9mm tape which works poorly. The larger tapes seem to have been discontinued. I suspect they discontinued the older, larger tapes, and rather than redesigning this, simply shoved a label on it claiming it is compatible with the smaller tapes when it is in fact not. They obviously don’t want t to invest much in this market.

テープを送る度にテープが上下し、文字が上下に踊って仕上がりの見た目が悪い。 テープカットも位置が目視できず難しい。
