I tried using this device with 4 different software's and none of them recognize it! Am I doing something wrong?

They don't use standard pcsc protocol, they use their own API as it says in the description. They did some slick development but it really limits the life of the tech since the went this way

Can this nfc reader read tap n pay debit/credit cards?

Yes it would as long as you have the right interpreter. The SDK that comes with it is a less then optimal to test but they got all the required files to develop your own application.
