Great value -Upgradeable needle if needed
I've been using the Audio-Technica AT-HS1 Universal Headshell, and it’s been fantastic for my turntable setup. The build quality is solid yet lightweight, which makes it easy to handle. Installing it was simple, and it fits perfectly with a variety of cartridges. The sound quality is noticeably clear and detailed, giving my vinyl records a richer sound. I also appreciate the design—it feels durable and looks sleek. If you’re looking for a reliable, well-made headshell, the AT-HS1 is a great choice!

It's the real deal
Solid buy! Great Numark quality. Fits perfectly. No issues whatsoever. Fairly easy to install. You do have to have a little technical knowledge to wire this correctly. But should be easy enough for any serious DJ or for anyone who is mildly hardware literate. Easy buy. No problems!

Perfect match for my AT-120 Turntable
My new turntable didn't have the proper cartridge or stylus to play 78 rpm records, so I purchased a new monaural cartridge and needed a headshell for it. This headshell is a perfect match for the one with my turntable, and I like the way the AT-120 has a storage port to safely store the headshell I'm not currently using. I'd give this headshell five stars except for the tediousness of properly installing my new Audio-Technica VM670SP cartridge to it. (To be fair, I've never mounted a cartridge before and maybe this is the same with all brands of headshells). Fortunately my wife had more patience with this procedure than she has with me, and after hearing me swearing from the other room searching the floor with a flashlight for the miniscule washers and nuts that I had dropped, she took over and had the thing perfectly assembled in less than 10 minutes. Bottom line, if you can mount your cartridge with no problem this is a perfect headshell.

Audio-Technica AT-HS1 headshell
Purchased Jan 2020 for $27. Since I did not see this information in previous reviews I wanted to show what is included (mounting screws, etc) and the headshell weight. The plastic blister package is recyclable (#1 PETE) and thankfully easy to open (not heat-sealed). Other than the cardboard placard there are no instructions or spec sheet included. Somewhat disappointingly only one set of screws are included with the AT-HS1 - a pair of M2.5 x 7mm long aluminum screws along with a matching pair of nuts and nylon washers. The AT-HS1 is clearly styled after the headshell from the Technics SL-1200 and even includes a threaded hole on the top of the shell to mount additional weights for club/DJ use. But at nearly 9.5g (with included wire set) the AT-HS1 is a bit heavier than the original Technics headshell (the SFPCC31001K is spec'd at 7.5g). The die-cast aluminum housing of the AT-HS1 has excellent shape edges and an attractive matt silver finish. The cartridge mounting slots allow a bit over 7mm of length adjustment for correct cartridge alignment. Unlike the similarly priced AT-HS6 the finger lever on the AT-HS1 has a nice sharp nub at the end which makes it much more secure to manually pick up. This is an excellent quality Technics styled headshell that is far less expensive than a genuine Technics headshell - but there are many similarly styled headshells for less money on Amazon that I may consider using next time.

Great purchase
Excellent product. Wires are correct and cartridge pin receptacles are very snug. Goldring E4 pairs up very well and naturally works perfectly with my Audio Technica turntable

I Had to Return It But You Want to Hear Why
This is an Audio-Technica (AT) customer service report more than a review of the headshell. I bought my LP120 in 2013, and recently moved the turntable from one floor to the Family Room home theater system. Apparently, in transit, one of the wires in the headshell pulled away from the cartridge. The tiny connector holding the wire to the cartridge fell off and disappeared. First I tried to find a connector replacement, and was steered to something by an Amazon tech. I ordered it and it was completely the wrong type of connector. So at this point I ordered a new headshell replacement (and also a new cartridge to replace the needle, which I believed was also damaged in the move. NB the needle can be replaced without replacing the cartridge but the savings is small). After I placed the order I thought to call AT customer service to explain what had happened. I was still hoping to get the connector I needed. AT customer service said to my shock that AT would send me a new headshell. When I said that I was sure the (six year old) turntable and headshell were out of warranty, the reply was that it was not a problem. A few days later the free replacement headshell arrived from AT. When I opened the package, I saw that not only did AT send me a headshell but the headshell included a new cartridge and stylus. WOW! So, I returned the headshell and cartridge to Amazon, and was out the return shipping costs. Gladly.
