Artistic and functional for a good price
We have three fans in the house, an Artemis, this Wave and a Westinghouse Solana. I would rate the Solana very low on the scale even though its only 50-60 dollars less than the Wave. There is just no comparison between the Wave and the Solana, in every category noise, looks, design, craftsmanship, etc except for lighting which the Wave lacks. I originally got the Solana for the master, but it was too loud and the air flow was too weak. Apart from the lower air flow which is understandable for its size and blade count, the fan is noisy with high levels of blade noise and motor whine. I decided to gamble again on the Wave. It's very similar to the Artemis fan, which we also recently bought and installed so I have a very high bar to compare the Wave against. Oh btw, the Minka Aire included remotes are fairly thin and modern looking. It wouldn't look out of place on the table. The remote on the Westinghouse on the other hand looks like something you'd find from the 80's. It's these little things that are not important but they add to the value imo. The wave is just as well made as the Artemis which costs over two times more, but it lacks features such as no light, no auto reverse on the motor. However it more than makes up for that with its price, looks, and high level of performance. It moves a lot of air and all around is very quiet. At high setting the wind noise is audible but it's not annoying, more like a low hum underneath the fan blade noise. I suppose it is hard to separate the two when the all the air moving around you is moving very well. The Artemis on the other hand is barely noticeable. I would rate the Artemis a 10 easily and the Wave as an 8. When we consider the price difference, the Wave is a winner. You get most of the qualities of the Artemis at little more than a third the cost.

Great fan
My last one suddenly died and this one is perfect. Had the other for over 5 years. Sleek and quiet.

Beautiful and well made!
Love love this fan! Works well, is quiet and very beautiful. I have 2 of these and I do like this one without the light better. Well priced for the high quality and very pretty looks.

Big box stores, forget it. These fans are it!
Needed to replace a 25 year-old hunter fan in our sunroom. The big box store fans are just about as bad as they can possibly be anymore so I went searching online and found Minka Aire. The styling is just out of this world. The installation was very straightforward, although not very easy. It is dead stock still as it spins and puts out a good deal of wind. I really couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase.

Fan works fine, remote/sensor does not! This is my first Minka.
UPDATE: Seller is sending replacement remote/sensor (this was not a Seller problem but a manufacturer problem). DISLIKE - Remote/Sensor does NOT seem to work! I tried replacing the battery with a new one, and I tried changing its frequency (followed instructions in manual) four times, and the fan would not start. I took the remote/sensor out of the installation, and changed out my on/off wall switch to an on/off wall switch w/slider dimmer (per seeing that others had stated this fan can run off them). UPDATE - For safety and to make sure the motor isn't damaged, I replaced the wall dimmer switch with a ceiling fan switch designed for 3-speed fans having no light (Lutron/Hampton Bay model 750 450 available at Home Depot for $12.97). Fan works great!!! LIKE - Style of fan, its 3 blades move ALOT of air, NO wobble (and my install was on a slanted ceiling), is quiet (but I noticed, in my case, this was wall switch dependent, hum with dimmer switch no hum with wall switch designed for 3-speed ceiling fan). Its on an enclosed porch. This model is the one with no light (which is what I wanted). I've installed many ceiling fans (Hunter, Harbor Breeze, Middleton), this is the first one I've experienced a problem with.

A beautiful disaster
The fan is gorgeous, it really is, but my god it’s the worst ceiling fan I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t know what’s worse, the very loud THUNK when you turn it on, or the loud HUMMMMMMMMM which provides a nice sort of airplane engine background sound to your life or the Morse code it taps away while running. Not an install issue, we’ve installed dozens of fans over the years, not the capacitor issue everyone seems to also have issues with. This is 100% 1) bad motor windings and 2) extremely poor QA on mounting parts and design. It’s a shame bc it really is a pretty fan but in no world would I ever be able to use this fan even if it were free or you paid me.
