It works! Havenât slept in since I got it!
Iâll start by saying I was extremely conflicted on whether or not to buy this product. If youâre reading the reviews, you can see that most of them mention that the product didnât work or worked fine for a bit and then stopped working. The problem is, anyone searching for a product like this is doing so because they are desperate and either want to fix a habit or NEED to wake up on time. My case was the latter. I had a horrible habit of sleeping in; Iâm pretty sure I could sleep through an atomic bomb. I was at a point where every night I set four different alarm clocks all over my room (alarm clocks which were advertised as being the loudest on the market) and would still manage to sleep through them in the morning. My point being, if your looking at this product itâs because you need it to work, and they pretty much have the market cornered as there arenât many other options for shocking alarm clocks. So, I took the chance and purchased it. And I am so glad I did. I donât usually review, but this little watch has saved my butt and kept me from getting written up for yet again being late to work. Itâs a little difficult to set up, it took me about an hour to figure out how to connect it to my phone and the app, but I did eventually get it set up. Once I did, figuring out the rest was simple. As long as I keep it charged and set my alarms on the app every night, it goes off in the morning without fail. Plus, the battery life is extremely longâI only have to charge it once every three days or so. The wrist band is pretty comfy, the material is some sort of silicone I think, and its smooth and cool on the skin. You do have to wear it reasonably tight though, so that the metal shocking part is pressed into the skin, otherwise it wonât shock properly. The shocking feature really is a shock. Itâs not just a vibration (although there is an option to have it vibrate, and beep as well). Iâm pretty tolerant to pain and was worried the shock wouldnât work for me, but you can change the intensity of the shock, and I only need to set mine at 70% and oh BOY does it wake me up. Again, you can also set the product go vibrate and beep and shock, all at different intensities and combinations for every different alarm to you set. The only problem Iâve come across is resisting the urge to simply remove the wrist band in the morning. However, the shock itself is enough to wake me up enough that Iâm not so groggy that I simply slap the snooze button. And the button on the watch is pretty difficult to press, so the snooze button is hard to hit. Overall, if youâre reading this review and are hesitant on buying a product thatâs pretty expensive just to have it maybe work, well, I can confidently say that this thing has changed my life. I havenât been late to work or school since I got it. I know itâs only been a month (and I hope I donât jinx it by writing this review!) but so far itâs been amazing. If I run into any problems, I will update my review for sure. But again, if youâre like me and are interested in this product for waking up on time, IT IS WORTH IT!!!

Terrible app
Shock Clock As other reviewers have said, I love the concept. However, the app is confusing, Faq center and info pages are circular and not helpful. Probably will return. The zap at 20% is good enough to get my attention because it does hurt a little bit. This is my first day with the device, and I want to try it out, but the only thing that works so far is shocking myself by pressing the button. I got it to wake myself up on time because I constantly hit the snooze button and then I'm running late and stressed out. I have not had the chance to use the alarm yet because I just srt up the device right now. I tried using the stopwatch, but it doesn't work properly. When I set it to one thing, like beep, it vibrates instead. When I set it to zap or vibrate, it beeps instead. I cannot get it to zap at all during the stopwatch mode. Now, no matter what I set it to, the stopwatch runs for about three milliseconds and then stops. The vibration and beep are BARELY noticeable, and I'm currently fully awake. I don't think the beep or vibration are strong enough to wake me up or to provide any reinforcement. I could be wrong, but that's what I think so far. I could not set the alarm to beep or vibrate first as a warning to do the jumping jacks to stop the alarm before receiving the shock. If it's automatically set that way, the app doesn't say that. It also doesn't say how many jumping jacks you need to do to turn off the alarm. I also got this because in the informational literature, it states that you can give friends the option to zap you remotely, but it doesn't tell you how to do that. The app only says something about adding friends' remotes. So does my partner need to download the app and enter my remote code to be able to zap me? If yes, nothing states that, and it also doesn't tell me how to find my remote code. I hate the way this thing looks. It looks cheap and bulky. It's am embarrassment to wear. I was going to buy the Pavlok 3 so I could attach it to my Apple watch, but I read a lot of reviews that said it literally fell apart very quickly, even on the first day. I've read negative reviews about this product, too, but I was so desperate that I decided to give it a try. I have also tried using a certain alarm app on my phone. I would tell you the name of it, but I think Amazon might take down my review if I do. I think I can say to search for an alarm app that makes you do squats to turn off the alarm. That app has free functions, and so far, it has mostly worked for me. And free is much better than $150! I'm annoyed that the app is the way it is. It doesn't actually tell you how to break a bad habit. It just lists a bunch of bad habits that it says it can help you break. But maybe since you can only work on one bad habit at a time, that's why I can't figure out the app. Maybe by already choosing to work on waking up on time, I've inadvertently locked other habits away from myself on the app. I want to use this device to work on at least three bad habits. Why can't I work on more than one habit at a time? This is very frustrating for $150. Again, my main issue is that the app doesn't work properly. So disappointing!!! Omg it busy keeps getting worse! The settings on the app are messed up. Earlier, when I set the zap to 20%, or was high enough to give me an effect. Then, when I used the timer, it was very weak at 20%, so I turned it up to 40%, and that was sufficient. Then, the timer stopped working, just like the stopwatch had stopped working earlier today. Now, the timer doesn't even work. I think the problem is with the app, not the device. I did a test alarm to see how powerful the 40% zap would be, and again it went back up to being more powerful like before. I think that because this is an electric shock device, it's extremely important to have the settings calibrated so you don't accidentally hurt yourself by choosing a percentage number that yields a low shock in one place in the app and a higher shock in another place in the app. Wow, it is really sad that this company has such poor execution of such a great idea. Maybe I'll ask my dad (an engineer) to work on making a better one and we'll become rich.

Love it!
I'm using this product for two things: getting up on time and working on breaking my nail biting habit. It's been pretty helpful in getting me awake, especially with the jumping jacks setting because it makes me get out of bed. Of course I don't like get up, but it's doing its job, a good one at that, I can't complain! My only thing is that lately it's not going off in the morning as consistently anymore, but I'm not sure if it's my fault or if the alarm just stopped working. I'm trying to figure that out, but before this happened, everything was great. It's been relatively helpful on the topic of my nail biting habit. I use the hand raise detection feature, which is great, except it does detect my hand going up to my face like if I want to rest my chin in my hand, which I wish didn't happen, but that's just to be expected and it's doing its job. I would recommend using the shock right away for nail biting habit because I originally set mind for the vibrate, beep, then zap setting, but it's easy to go past it if you just put your hand down and then bring it back up, so I imagine it's more effective to set it to zap right away, which I'm going to start doing. Overall, my experience with it has been great so far! I have high hopes for my continuation of using it because it definitely helps and I'm sure I'm going to make even more progress on my habits while using it. EDIT: it was my fault, i forgot to turn the alarm back on

It works for getting up
I had to let anyone thinking about this shock alarm clock wrist device that it is changing my life. I would sleep all day and be up all night and sometimes slept so late it made more sense to stay up than go to bed. My sleep was ruining my life. I did sleep studies, started using a cpap machine, I even had an operation on my sinuses, and I still couldn't regulate my sleep. I quit my last job because I was going to work on 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night. I'm not kidding, and I'm not a stooge for the company or free product reviewer. I shocked myself once when I got it to see how strong it was and it isn't all that bad even at 75% (which is as high as I went) but I sure did know it had shocked me, so I set my alarm for 7:59am and the watch for 8am and set it for no snoozing and deactivate with the code then stuck the QR code to the wall in another room. I have got up every morning for about 3 months and only been shocked again a few times when I was moving too slowly. I'm usually up and into the other room before it gets me. You do have to exert some willpower. You could take it off (the company sells little locking devices for the strap, I haven't tried them but it's a good idea). You could go to the other room, deactivate it, then go back to bed. You need to go to bed at a time when you will get enough sleep before the alarm. You have to actually set it in the first place, lol. But it REALLY helps get me out of the bed to start with. My wife and family are all amazed. I've been doing university online, but in January I will be back in the workplace and I was really concerned about being able to manage sleep, but not anymore. I get up, I have a day, I see my friends and family, and I get some sunlight and even leave the house! It's incredible! Couple of other points - it is a big chunky item to have strapped to your wrist. After the first few days I was waking up with a bruise where it had been pushed down by me sleeping on it. I fixed this by wearing the 'watch' part on the inside of my wrist and it has improved, it still isn't great, but it works. The 3rd version looks slimmer but it also costs quite a lot more. Idk if it's slimmer enough for a $100 price increase. Also, this model (2nd) seems to be a lot more robust than people were reporting the 1st one to be, so I recommend it for that, obviously I can't say how it will last longer term, but it seems solid. I only wear it at night and put on a real watch during the day, so it shouldn't take so much wear that way. Idk how the battery will last over time either, but it lasts a little less than a week at the moment. I'm hoping to establish enough of a habit that I won't need the shocker later, but even if I need to buy a new one every year or so I will do it because it has made such a difference for me. I didn't buy the 3rd edition because of the price and it might not last judging from some of the other reviews, so I went for an in between cost, but they seem to be improving each new model. One last complaint, the app is awful. They say they are improving it, but it is like 1990s apple Mac, you can make it work, but it is glitchy as anything. Hopefully that will get better and it isn't a deal breaker for the alarm clock function because I can set it, pair it, and the QR works for turning it off, which is all I need. There you go, I say buy it if you are a hardcore sleeper and have trouble snoozing your alarm while fully still asleep. Buy it if you think you will work with it to get up and stay up. It helps like nothing else I tried. đđŽ

Great Product. Best alarm clock
Battling fatigue in the morning has always been an issue for me. I would barely hear my alarms, all 10 of them, and if I did hear them I would snooze and cruise back into dreamland. I tried placing it where I had to get out of bed to turn it off but that only had the same result. I would barely hear my alarm and muffle the noise with a pillow thusly falling back to sleep. I came across the Pavlok Shock Shock after saying enough is enough. I am quite pleased with this product. I am jolted awake and able to get up and stay out of bed. The Shock Clock has many alarm settings which makes it unique for each individual. If you hit the snooze a lot in the morning you can have it send a quick zap instead of snoozing. You can also have it only turn off after doing jumping jacks or after walking to another room and scanning a QR code. I have used the Shock Clock mostly for waking up but it is made to aid with correcting other behaviors or habits you do not want to have. Along with a safe static shock, it also has a vibration and beep feature. This is great as it helps allow you to train yourself to stop behaviors/habits you want to kick. Eventually just the vibration or beep will be enough to get you to react and correct the behavior before a shock occurs. I would recommend this to anyone that is tired of doing the same bad habits and is motivated to stop them.

It works great for awhile, but there is some downsides
I bought the shock clock in August 2023. I am the worlds heaviest sleeper, and so if you are a semi heavy sleeper I think this product would be amazing. It woke me up pretty great for the first few months. However, as my body got used to the shocks I had to keep increasing the percentage level till I got to 90-100%. Also it stopped shocking as hard as I had it for longer. Now it has gotten to the point where I have to be shocked for an hour or 2 straight before I wake up. So for the heaviest sleepers I donât think this product is for us unless youâre willing to buy a new one every so often. Also the app is a little annoying with how long it takes setting the alarms, but itâs definitely not bad enough to get a one star review like some people have said. Another note is the band is extremely uncomfortable

MUST READ - MY LIFE IS CHANGED. I LOVE IT.
Holds a charge well! Charges fast, will still work even if your phone is off or not connected. I personally use this to wake up for work. Before I found this I had an alarm clock that vibrates the entire bed / pillow, about 10-15 alarms on my phone as well as my husband's phone. Neither of us would wake up to them 3/5 days of the week. It was a real issue. I don't wake up to anything. I was worried I might lose my job. So I got this. The shock doesn't hurt, I only have to set it to 50% but after my second week the craziest thing happened! So it starts off with a vibrate, then beep, then it shocks you. For the first few days I got shocked. It worked but I was not happy. Then I kept waking up in the night for a few nights afraid I was about to get shocked. Then I started waking up to the quiet beeps, so I could prevent the shock. Now I wake up to the VIBRATION! I am A CHANGED WOMAN. This thing trained my mind to associate the vibration and quiet beeping with being shocked so well that I wake up immediately the first time it starts to vibrate. It's the most insane thing, I really thought I was a lost cause but this saved me. Now here's the best part. My husband is the same way. So when I leave for work I put it on him, and have it set for the time he needs to wake up and it works for him too!!! Even when my phone is miles away with me at work. It remembers and stays set by itself without needing to be paired. That's amazing. And he can turn off the alarm manually and he's good to go. We are so happy. Buy it!!!!! Side note - you can also use this to quit bad habits by manually shocking yourself which is all adjustable. I'm going to try it to quit smoking next. And this thing reads your sleep. Must I say more?! It does a million things. It's a life saver. Worth every penny to not feel like a bad employee.

Not Worth the Price
The device claims it can promote healthy habits and stop bad ones. It pretty much comes down to having something that vibrates and zaps on your wrist and the app has to do all the heavy lifting. Thereâs the typical stuff in there, step count, sleep score, etc. When it comes to breaking a habit, the user is supposed to have an âaversionâ session by going to the app and setting a timer to shock you intermittently as you do your bad habit. Itâs a novel idea but when you think about the psychology behind it, the only way this works is if youâre disciplined enough to keep shocking yourself and if youâre open to developing trauma associated with the shock. I bought the device as an alarm, and was turned off by the lack of functionality in the app. It didnât have a way to test the shock or vibration, I just set an alarm for a minute later and tried it like that. If it does have this function I couldnât find it and the app doesnât do a very good job showcasing it. Seems like a small thing to gripe about but from all the reading Iâm doing, people with positive experiences are still having to replace this thing or get support for it 5 months down the road. So Iâm returning it before the window closes and I get stuck trying to make this work so I donât feel like I threw away $150. Highest vibration doesnât feel like itâll wake me either and I donât have a sleep condition or anything. Highest shock will get your attention for sure though. TL;DR This is going to break, even the CEO says âitâs not perfect.â At some point itâll be unreliable as an alarm and if youâre trying to get more out of it, youâll probably be disappointed
