What sizes do the medium and large fit?

Medium is 32-34". Large is 36-38". XL is 40-42".

How do i indicate my preferred size on my order

There is no place to indicate size!

does the elastic around the leg opening hold up (and keep things in)?

The elastic does hold up, but keeping things in, unless you are on the small side, I would say no! I have bought Hanes underwear for years and have been happy. However the last couple years they must be trying to save money by skimping on the amount of material they use in the crotch. The crotch width now is about what you would expect in women's underwear! I find these briefs very uncomfortable to wear! Buyer beware on these.

No option to pick my size??? I want to buy a pack but theres no option to choose my size.

Haines underwear is the best underwear

Hanes underwear fits my husband well. They aren't lose or sagging. They wash well. The fit looks nice. No li m especially show through jeans. The price is cost saving.

If you wear this style of brief, these are more comfortable than the Kalvin Kline. But, everybody's body is different, so be sure of the size requirement before you buy.

Pretty good for Hanes. Seems that the quality has improved from prior versions of Hanes. Soft enough and just the right fit.

Very comftorbal with nice support. Since I have a smaller waist I purposfully tried to shrink them by washing them in hot water and drying on high heat. - They didn't shrink although I would prefer if they did - but my small waist size is the issue. but fit well enough.

bad construction

Bought it because of the high reviews. But they're not comfortable, not pretty. Even in the photos of other reviews you can see that they make creases at the bottom of the leg, because the shape is not tight. Reminds me of Italian pantalons.
