These are as quiet as everyone says
I'm simply shocked by how quiet these fans are! I bought a NAS case recently that had two 80mm fans for pulling air through the hard drives. This case was surprisingly loud when I first turned it on. I decided to give the Nocturna fans a try since I've heard so many good things about how quiet they were. I was expecting a marked improvement over the cheap fans the case came with, but I was simply shocked how quiet these new fans actually are. They are basically silent - they sounds of the hard drive heads seeking is far louder than these fans.Of course the price of these is significantly higher than other fans (even others advertised as "quiet"). But if you're really looking for quiet I don't think you'll be able to find anything quieter. I'm now a believer.

Works in Dell Optiplex SFF 5060. Came with everything needed to install
My Dell Optiplex SFF running Proxmox with a quad 1Gb NIC and a dual 10Gb Mellanox card was running hot, like 80C. I wanted more airflow into the case, so I bought this 80mm case fan for the front, next to the PSU. Installation was simple with the included mounting adapters. Unhooked the factory CPU fan from the MB, inserted the fan Y cable and connected everything up again. At first I got a MB error code on boot. The error was sill being reported when I disconnected the case fan and only left the CPU fan. I then connected the CPU directly to the MB and sill got an error code on boot. Something was borked. Pulling the cmos bios battery out, waiting and the reinstalling solved the problem. Put the Y cable back in and connected the CPU and case fan. It booted without any errors, but I had to go through and set all my bios parameters, they were all gone.If I let the MB control the fans the CPU 65C. If I let the fans run full speed the CPU temp drops to 44C!Its a Proxmox server, so I don't mind the extra noise, which is 90% the stock CPU fan. The case fan is almost silent.

Perfect replacement.
An excellent replacement. Easy to install, and came with everything I needed. Be sure and keep track of which side of the fan goes up. It came with a 4 pin to 3 pin adapter ... very thoughtful. Well packaged.

Perfect Fans
Absolutely love these fans. Colors are beautiful and will never get tired of it. Fans are dead silent when at idle - and under load there's no droning or annoying sounds, just air being pushed around. Just amazing, well worth the money.

Silence
Super silent, sometimes I think they are not working because of their no noise nature

I'm a fan
Arrived with everything needed and works great. I used it on a mininas setup and it is keeping everyone in a low temp and doing it pretty quiet. Love it

Noctua - Simply the BEST!
Noctua - Best cooling solutions “ANYWHERE”! I have used Noctua CPU Coolers, Thermal Compound, and fans for decades. Spend a little more and get the best that money can buy. Put a dollar value on your frustration whenever purchasing computer components. Not to mention time saving. Noctua, their entire product line, is consistently top shelf.

THE MISSING FAN ALIENWARE AURORA CHASSIS DESIGN NEEDS
The Fan that’s missing in all the Alienware Aurora chassis design from r1-r12. The inside haven’t changed. Still lacking air cooling and only room for 1 liquid cooling radiator 120mm. If u running SLI you can’t install liquid cool gpu and ur gpu are literally facing the bottom of the case with no room for air. Only 1 fan is facing the back side of the GPU and that’s the front fan. One of the only 2 fans in this compacted case. They do come standard with up to 3000+rpm fans which is pretty impressive I give them that. But the noise is unbearable at that fan speed. So I switched it to noctua front Fans and got a bit more quiet but not much since I don’t spin the rpm high on the older ones anyways which doesn’t make much noise when it is t spinning crazy anyways, anyways I notice the side panels has ventilations on it and even seems like holes for you to mount a fan. So I bought one of these small 80mm fans to try it out and it worked it was pretty easy disconnect the metal chassis from the plastic cover it, a single clip like mechanism in the center held the entire thing together, ones I unlock the clip I just push and slide the metal plate off the plastic panel from the Aurora and begin installing the fan, funny thing is tho, ones I installed it I realized there is no extra 4 pins fan headers for u to plug in an extra fan unless u want to use the CPU fan header for the side panel fan or put the pump fan to the cpu header and then put the side panel fan to the pump fan, neither option was appealing to me, so I went to secret option number 3, I use the Y cable that came with the noctua 80mm pwn fan and plug my front fan and the side panel fan into it and use the front fan header since they fairly same location of the case and both noctua fans I figure it won’t be too big of a problem fingers crossed and it worked. Even tho they are different sizes and different RPM rating. Lol anyways check out the temp difference. I’m pretty happy with the mod I did on it, almost felt like Alienware should’ve included it from the begining. Also I think there is enough room to fit another 120mm liquid cooler in the front fan spot with a bit of dremel work u can cut out some of the excess metal chassis and some of the plastic in the front. That way u can liquid cool ur gpu and your cpu. I’m thinking I might do that one day just for fun. I don’t even play games on my computer now. I just like taking it apart and changing pc parts left and right just for fun and performance. Anyways yeah if u have an Aurora, get one of these, it’s good.
