Caran D'ache Ballpoint Refill - Blue Broad (8422-260)

Works well

By its very nature, this refill is going to write drier than the medium point will. Less ink-flow, so much thinner lines. This is exactly what I wanted for the application (writing in margins of books). However, if you want to do general writing, not super tiny characters, I'd suggest you get the medium point, in any color, as it flows so well, while using much more ink.

Love the way it writes

This green refill arrived the next day in a plastic bag. It's genuine and writes smoothly, almost like a gel pen. My only complaint is that the green ink is really a bright green. I wish it were a darker green. I would return it if I could but it's the only green refill made by Caran D'ache.

Expensive pen, and the refills aren't cheap either, but the refill is a pleasure to use. Firm line, easy writing.

I generally don't like to use ballpoint pens, but this Caran D'ache is an exception. This refill is a smooth writer, almost like a gel pen. The last Goliath refill I bought lasted a long time, and I hope that this one does, too.

Having tried many ball pens from £1 - £200 over the years the only one I’ll now write with is a Caran D’ache 849. Part of the reason are these refills (especially the broad one). I have yet to find a smoother, more pleasant writing experience with a ball pen. The rolling resistance, ink viscosity, longevity everything about these refills is close to perfection and yields a really pleasant writing experience.

Genuine article. Arrived factory-fresh. Great price - and red refills are hard to find, so very pleased.

It can be made to fit a standard Parker G2 type pen - that is the good news. However; it costs a lot more then 3 times the Parker and its writing is scratchy too thin and too dry. In all honestly the Parker refill is better not to say anything about the even better Schmidt which costs 66% as much for two refills rather than one. And it completely outclasses this product. So does the Montverde also for less and the colors available are remarkable. - Don't buy
